Betamethasone Dipropionate cream on my son's penis

by Geline, Nov 28, 2008 07:25AM
My son is 10 months-old and his circumcision was reattaching (the skin was not pulling done all the way past the head of his penis; only about 50% of the head was exposed).  The urologist prescribed Betamethasone Dipropionate cream (augmented) to apply twice a day to the area for 6 weeks.  I am worried that I have put too much on.  It is now the 5th week and not only is the skin at the attached area thinning but also the surrounding penis skin.  Basically all the loose skin (foreskin?) is thinned out.  Is this a normal part of the process for helping the circumcision detach?  Will the skin eventually rethicken once the circumcision detached and we stop using the cream?  I am worried that the skin is too thin and as he grows the skin will be stretched too much.
