Swollen glans

Hi,

Some history:
Just to start off with a bit of background to my problem, my foreskin would not retract and so at the age of 18 I saw a doc who prescribed me some steroid cream and told me to slowly retract it everyday. This worked and I've now also gotten over the initial sensitivity of the glans. The doctor noticed that I had a short frenulum and so gave me a frenuloplasty. This was also successful. Since then I have had a couple of instances of thrush but this has been cleared up by applying some Canesten each time.

I had unprotected sex with my long term girlfriend a couple of months ago and the next day my glans was red and my foreskin was swollen and red. I tried Canesten for two-three weeks and saw only some improvement. Consequently, I saw my doc again who prescribed me some Timodine (a 0.5% steroid cream) and this cleared everything up.

The problem:
Since then however, if I have an erection with my foreskin covering the glans, the glans feels quite tight and uncomfortable. After masterbation, I often notice that my glans is a bit swollen. This goes down after about half an hour but I can't help but feel like the two problems are linked and I particularly want to sort out the uncomfortable erections.
I broke up with my girlfriend about a month ago and so am afraid that the next time I have sex, because the activity will last a lot longer than masterbation, it will create problems. Also, it's playing havoc with my self-confidence, which isn't fun.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply Ron, I'm doing the widening stretch everyday as of Thursday gone but obviously that is a very slow process. As for the bunching up thing, my stretching exercises over the last year for the length of the frenulum have reduced the effect of the bunching up so it can't be that.

Any other suggestions?

If you have a tight foreskin than it is possible that the foreskin could buch up behind the glans. This then could cause the glans to swell as it traps the blood in the glans. (para phimosis.)

If you can try to gentily stretch your foreskin when you are taking a bath. Go slow about it and keep using the steroid cream. Make sure that no small cracks in the foreskin devellop. If the water in the tub is on the warmer side it will relax your foreskin making it easier to tretch.

Good luck

Ron
