8 days ago I was lifting heavy weights standg up (bicep curls) n may have strained. Also, week before Fiance had yeast infection and bacterial infection (not std-related) & she took vaginal antibiotics. ONE week before pain, I started taking recommended doses of GNC Saw Palmetto and Sarasparilla to help workouts. Friday morning I started Creatine - since monday I stopped evthg - even working out.
For 7 days now I have had a very dull tenderness (not pain) in groin and testis feel like they're getting "sucked-up" into body. Feels like I am wearing SUPER TIGHT pants or sthg. When I exhale slowly and really relax my gut (I'm 5'8, 185lbs.), scrotum relaxes a bit & testis descend a bit. Went to Hosp yesterday & they said no infection (did blood & urinealysis - chacked out ok) & did ultrasound - right testi ok w/ flow, but they could not find blood flow on left. Nonetheless, doc said I was ok bec. no swelling in testis, testis were not overly hard or soft, no bumps, no pain during examination, and gave me doxycycline for 10 days and ibuprofen. I am 27, had epididymitis 9 years ago, but doc said that's prob. not it. Took anti's 2x so far and no change - testis still "bunched-up" & scrotum tight. No pain, but this morning I masturbated (had normal hard erection) just to see what would happen, ejaculated (normal ejaculate color, consistency), now RIGHT testi (One w/ flow easily seen on ultrasound)is tender a bit and both are still cramped against my body - looks in mirror like I have no balls!
Did I hurt myself lifting? i.e. pull a cremastic/cremasteric muscle or give myself some kind of inguinal hernia? How would I know? There is no pain while walking - I just can't stand the sensation of having my testis sucked up to my body - they are not hanging like before.
Did the supplements do sthg to me? I also take a daily vitamin and echinacea (not for past day though)
Did fiance's problem affect me? (Even though tests showed no infection & thus far no change (due to meds) in constant cramping of testis.)
Do I have a smoldering/recurring case of epidiymitis? I remember what It felt like 9 yrs ago - I could barely walk & it felt like I got kicked in groin - nthg like that pain here. No swelling or abnormal testi size.
Please educate me as well as possible. I have no health ins. & had to go to County Hospital yesterday.
So far you have had pretty comprehensive tests including ultrasound and urinalysis. Antibiotics for chlamydia was given (doxycycline).
You may want to investigate why no blood flow to the left testes was seen. That would be a possible reason why it would feel shrivelled or "sucked in". A urology referral to further investigate it would be appropriate.
Another possibility would be a hernia. If one cannot be found on clinical exam, a pelvic CT scan can be arranged for more comprehensive evaluation.
In addition to these tests, I would also consider testing for prostatitis, including a transrectal ultrasound.
