UTI or other infection

Hi Doc :
For starters I am a 28 year old male.
About a week ago I noticed that I was having slight testicular pain in my left testicle. I also had a case of slight back pain on the same side. The occurred after a bout of oral sex from a girl I was dating so I attributed the pain to our efforts in the bed room. However, I also noticed that I was having urgency and frequency issues when I had to urinate. I did a little research and it seemed to lead me to a UTI. I also considered Epididymitis caused gonorrhea/chlamydia at worst. However, I do not have any fever, nausea. The girl told me that she had a tooth infection...after the fact! Could this come into play?  In anycase after doing my research , I decided that my best course of action was going to a clinic. I went and the doctor said that being a male it was rare that I had a UTI and that if there were an issue that it was mostly cause by an STD. I told her that I didn't have any discharge or any of the accompanying symptoms with an STD. The doctor examined me and took a urine sample , which she sent off to the lab. She also prescribed me a strong course of azithromycin (4) taken at once and a cycle of  CIPRO for an entire week. The doctor told me that if it were an infection or worse that the prescribed meds would clear me up in a week. I took the azithromycin and the pain subsided in my left testicle a little bit. I am however noticing that I have a case of protienuria or foamy urine. I read that this is associated with a UTI  but I am worried as I know it can also mean kidney issues. The back pain has subsided but also sread to my right side. I do notice that it goes away when I take the CIPRO.

I have only been taking the medicine for a day but I was curious of your opinions and thoughts about the protienuria. My urine is not extremely foamy but there are bubbles and foam that weren't there before. Can I take an over the counter like AZO to help with this ?

Your physician made a reasonable decision in prescribing as she did. Foamy urine may be seen with proteinuria, but does not make the diagnosis. A twenty-four hour collection of urine analyzed for protein is needed to truly determine the diagnosis, though a urinalysis may give you an idea.
Your symptoms may well be that of a kidney stone. If you symptoms return, see a urologist.
There is no need to take AZO.
