Very small testicular bump there for very long time

I am 47 years old and have had a very small (smaller than a BB) size bump on one testicle. To my best recollection, it has been there for 20 years or so. I have no symptoms or discomfort, and it has never changed in size, etc. I'm considering a vasectomy, but I'm paranoid that this bump will be observed on examination, and I'm worried that I will have to have a biopsy or some sort of invasive test. Because this has been there for so long and hasn't changed a bit, is there a good chance it is something benign or otherwise non-threatening? Will the doctor insist on removing my testicle for a biopsy or doing some sort of invasive test? Is this likely to cause the doctor to delay my vasectomy?

The best test at this point would be an ultrasound. There can be many causes of lumps, including cancer, cysts, hydroceles or varicoceles. Before proceeding, an ultrasound would rule out many of these possibilities.
