What is: Follicular Cystitis, Cystitis Cystica & Cystitis Glandularis? More info please!

My 24 year old brother has just been diagnosed with the above.
He has a history of bladder infections & recently had his urethra widened via cystoscopy.
Lumps were found in his bladder during cystoscopy- biopsy tissue was extracted & the above was revealed.
His Urologist says there is no evident cause or cure for this and that he should prepare to have more incidences for the rest of his life. Yes/No?
Could you kindly provide more information re. the above and any treatment possibilities available?
Many Thanx!

I have had frequent uti was seen by urologist and he did (outpatient) bladder biopsy as he found a small tumor  upon examination. I had another uti and was given cipro before surgery and when the culture cameback 4-8he called and ordered a round of antibitios, nitrofurantoin MCR 50 mg C, 4 per day for 5 days and then one at bedtime for 30 days.
Today at his office 4-9-10 he said diag was chronic follicular cystitis. and sections reveal urinarybladder mucosa. underlying small cystic areas are present lined by benign-appering urothelius. lymphoid aggregate with germinal center formation is present within the mucosa. He said urinary infections in teh past had caused this and he thougt the antibitios will take care of this. what is your opinion? The surgery was done 4-6-10.thanks  BB, North Carolina
