Yeast infections CAUSING UTI

by sunnyshine1, Aug 07, 2008 07:40PM

I was given an antibiotic for a dog bite, and developed both the symptons of a yeast infection and UTI. I was treated for both and understand that both can have similar symptons like burning with urination and discomfort in the general area.  My question is, can the yeast infection come first, irritate the uretha, setting it up for infection?  The reason I ask is because I have a pattern of developing yeast and UT infections when I use antibiotics.

Your help is appreciated.

It is very common in women to get a yeast infection after having taken a course of antibiotics.
It is also common for yeast to infect the urinary tract.
What I have found, that works for me, is taking Probiotics daily. This seems to replace the good bacteria that the antibiotics have taken away, thereby keeping the yeast, which is naturally in our bodies, at a normal level.
Hope this helps or even makes any sense. Good luck to you!
Hugs & prayers
