I have a very large cyst on right side of testical, with a small cyst on left side. Infact the cyst is larger than the testical itself. and the pain in the scrotum is up and down like a yoyo. some days it seems like it wont go away.
I am on the waiting list for surgery, but because the urologist has listed the cyst as non cancerous,(no test were done, just a look) the hospital is not placing me as important. What I am wondering is, am I worried for no reason, do these cysts not become cancerous, and is the pain just a nerveNerve biopsy Nerve conduction velocity pain.Should I not have the operation if its not urgent, and so save me from going through a general aenesthitic, and lastly are there any side effects from having the cysts removed surgically.
thanks, harry
An epididymal cyst is a swelling containing watery liquid lying just above the testicle. Since the cyst is free on any cancerous cells, so it is good. But you have to get it removed because it is pressing on the nerves and causing pain. My advice is to get it removed by surgery. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and as with any other surgery some of the complications like swelling, bleeding, pain, infection, numbness and recurrence of cysts are there. Please discuss the pros and cons with your urologist before opting for surgery.
Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
