What units are being used for the BUN and creatinine values? Are these in mmol/L or mg/dl?
I think that ovarian cysts may be likely in your child's case given that a pelvic ultrasound was done and not an abdominal ultrasound. However, a kidney cyst may also be a differential given the presence of WBC and blood in the urine. However, the BUN and creatinine levels appear to be within normal (if in mg/dl) albeit high normal.I suggest that a 24 hour urine protein be derived to quantify urine protein. An abdominal ultrasound of kidneys ,ureters and bladder may be able to rule out an underlying kidney cyst.It is interesting to note that in most cases, kidney cysts may be incidental findings and the individual may actually be asymptomatic.
Has your daughter any problems with her menstrual cycle?
Let us await the results of her CT Scan.An ovarian cyst may require further evaluation and close ultrasonographic monitoring after 2-4 weeks from the first ultrasound.
