Sunday Weigh In

Another week has gone by, and we are back again to see how we've all progressed.

I, personally, have had what, I've come to call, a "set back" -- meaning, I gained a pound, rather than losing!!  Oh, woe is me!!  Once again, this week, I had to take my aunt for doctor appts, etc, so that meant several hours behind the steering wheel, getting to her house and back home, then of course to the doctor's offices.  When I wasn't doing that, I was at work, or sleeping!!

Of course, all of that meant eating out, as well, since my aunt loves to go out, either for breakfast before an appt or for lunch afterward.

At any rate, I am up from 148 last week to 149, this week.  I think that's the same pound I've lost at least a dozen times, or more............

Okay, so how about you?

Well, it seems that some have done well, some had our set backs.

Kim -- "only" down 3.1?  Come on -- you're being way to hard on yourself.  Actually, it's recommended that you lose between 1.5 and 2 pounds/week.  So at 3.1, that's awesome!!

alicianicole -- you did great as well,  1.8 is just about right.  Hope you have a great visit with your boyfriend; and if he supports your efforts, he will do everything he can to help keep you on track.

SkyDiveDiva -- if I calculated correctly, you are down 0.6; nothing to sneeze at either.  Keep up the good work.

yallolorry -- I do the exact same thing -- my weight can fluctuate as much as 5 pounds in a 24 hr period; I think I've lost and gained the same 10 pounds at least a dozen times over the past couple of years.  I go back in for my thyroid blood work in a few days; I think we will find that my levels are off again, which is part of why I'm struggling; the rest is simply because I don't have/take the time/energy to exercise!!

tigerlilly -- you've done an awesome job with your weight loss and staying pretty steady with it.  Sure you go up a bit once in a while, but you are staying within just a couple of pounds of your goal and we all know that could be fluid retention as much or more so, than fat........

SunnyMom and Trudie -- sounds like you've both been through the mill, but it's still great that you are staying pretty steady in spite of everything.

Trudie -- you've had a hard time with your health, job, etc -- I doubt I would be as up as you are -- that's great.  It's always easier to stick with an eating plan at home than it is when we are away; particularly when we have to do the "business" thing.  Seems like companies forget that healthy food is necessary in order to keep up with the grueling schedule they put you through!!

At any rate, I'm happy to see everyone in such good spirits and ready to go again this coming week.

"Only" down 3.1 lbs and disappointed in yourself, Kim??? That's 5.15 times more than I lost and no small accomplishment! Don't be so hard on yourself! Congrats on posting a great number and good luck in the upcoming week.

Well...I'm not alone. A number of us are frustrated that we less than we'd hoped to and some of us are holding steady or even up a bit. I'm down 0.6 lbs, I think from last week, but that is still up 0.9 from the weight I had been maintaining and up 1.5 from the low weight I'd hit. Most discouraging, it puts me "behind the pink line" weight target tracker. BUT...we all should congratulate ourselves for the efforts we're making to eating and being healthier AND to the support we're lending to one another! If you achieved your goals this week, congratulations! If you didn't, today starts a new week and maybe you'll surprise yourself my exceeding your goals at next week's weigh-in!
Last week: 184. This week: 183.4.

Hello everyone!  Back from a hectic and tiring week at the Microsoft Partner Conference in Washington DC.  Went out last Sunday and got back Friday.  It was brutal on me.  I am not used to so much walking and standing on my feet.  My feet and ankles swelled up awful and caused oodles of blisters and lots of pain on my feet.  And, didn't get to eat well.  Way too much grease from all the stand up buffets.  Luckily with all the exercise it helped and I am just up .8 of a pound.  Started a vegetable and fruit diet yesterday afternoon (eating my birthday cake when I got back made me actually feel sick) and am hoping it will flush my system and launch my weight loss efforts anew.

Glad to see everyone is either losing or holding (or at least not gaining too much).

I am very happy to say that I have remained the same considering I had day-surgery (hysteroscopy) this week. Actually I have been the same for the past month or so. But, considering how crazy life has been, starting with house-guests (aka nephew & his buddy) who needed lots of help with things and hung around our house a lot, disrupting my routine, then all the busy-ness of packing for and going camping, (which included taking 2 days to get to our destination and a full 12-hour day of driving to get back home) and never mind how much of a challenge camping and staying on track with healthy eating is! Then to come home and have this day-surgery 2 days after coming back from our trip! I need an other vacation! ;)

SO, all in all I am just very happy that I can still say that I am 185! I have been ultra good this week after finding out that I am not allowed to do strenuous exercise for the next 5 weeks (b/c doc. is on vacation so I can't have the post-op visit any sooner). I've been drinking lots of water, eating only 100% whole grain breads, eating lots of veggies and fruits (OK, I had some white raisin bread... but for the rest its been all good stuff...).

Well I'm a little disappointed considering what kept me on track all week was knowing I was going to weigh in today.

I'm down 0.8 from last week. I was 127.2 and today I'm 126.4, however yesterday and the day before I was 125.4 and 125.2.

I could feel my ankles swelling last night and was thoroughly annoyed by the time I went to bed. I woke up and could barely get my ring off. I was in the heat yesterday but tried to take it easy. I exercised extra earlier this week and I was very tired yesterday. I'm staying inside today for laundry and housework and I'm leaving the air on so hopefully my swelling will go down.

I'm doing well and know that my weight going up a pound from yesterday is no fault of my own but it is still disappointing.

Next week I hope to down to my goal weight of 125.0. I'm going to keep trying.

I has a lot of water retention last week so since that has somewhat went away I thought the loss would have been bigger. Next week... I shall try harder!

The end of my first week and a little disappointed with myself. Didn't lose as much as I thought I would, but at this point...any is better than none. Lost 3.1 lbs... I guess that is a start!

Oh Barb, sorry you are not down this week. I think of you and your aunt and all the to-ing and fro-ing to doctors. You do so much and have so much on your plate, I salute you.

I'm still stuck, the scales say 154lb this morning, or 153lb if I lean forward, or 157 if I lean back! lol! Think my scales may need to be replaced they tell so many different stories depending on how I stand!  Anyway, I'm not really bothered about variance of a couple of pounds as my weight has basically sat stubbornly between 153 and 160lbs since the begginning of the year and I want to get to 133 so until I'm consistently below 147 I am just not convinced anything very significant is happening. I gain a pound or two or five, I lose a pound or two or five, so it goes.

However...at the start of this week I went for a baby run, 100yards running, 100 yards walking, alternating for maybe half a mile, not far. First time I've tried running for a long time. Then yesterday I went to my first yoga class in a month. My energy levels have been so compromised I've hardly exercised at all for far too long...so am focussing on building that up now.

Energy was so low this week I resorted to some sugar fixes. Now going cold turkey on that again. Oh, bah, bah, bah, hrmpppphh.

Happy to have all of you to check in with and share the journey.

wishing everyone else good luck this week - you all inspire me.
