Thanks for the words of encouragement Barb! And, yes, very true about keeping at this for my daughter's sake. This week has been super busy again but so far managing to stay on track with eating right anyways... not so much with the exercise though since time is a rare commodity at the moment!
My husband & both had very successful weigh-ins this morning. He lost 3 lbs & I lost 2. I hit the 20 lb lost mark & he's only 11 lbs from his goal weight. We have not been exercising. It's been really muggy & we don't have AC so willpower has been in short supply on that end. So we are working on cleaning out our garage this week in the evenings.
Barb - I just found out that my Grandma has been dealing with thyroid issues since she was 12 (I think she's mid 70's now). I understand her fight with weight a lot better now & I really wish you the best of luck in your own. I hope the doc can help you out. You work so hard to lose the weight!
Thank you to everyone for hanging in there another week & giving me the extra inspiration to keep going. You are all awesome!
Thanks Barb - yep been a tough week - problems with my son and a school holiday .....so lots of stress and lots of naughty food around.... back on track today :) x
I stayed the same this week. Still at 172. Have lots on the agenda for the week so hopefully, things will start moving along again.
Sounds like everyone is doing a good job of getting where they want to be, or at least where they "expect" to be.
Trudie -- keep working at it; you've had so many setbacks, that it's great you were down 0.2 lbs.
Tigerlilly, you are doing awesome -- I sure wish I could get close to MY goal weight. I know the cravings get horrible sometimes, but I've managed to resist them for the most part; hope you can too.
Yallowlory -- another 2 lbs down is great. It's not an easy thing to do and I know you struggled with thyroid levels as well, so be happy with your 2 pounds -- BTW -- 1-2 lbs/week is about what we recommend, so you are right on schedule.
Sunnymom -- I'm glad you have your daughter there to remind you when you want to give up. I'd like to say "to heck with it" too sometimes, but just can't give up. Don't want you to either - your daughter needs you to hang in there with her.
Whatawoman -- must have been a tough week for you, if you expected to up more than you were. Whatever the issue is, if we can help, please let us know. I think when you go on your vacation, it might just be good to relax and enjoy it, rather than worrying about weight loss.
Elaine - you did awesome for being on vacation. 2.2 lbs over 2 weeks is great; and doing it while on vacation is even better. You must have been able to relax a bit?
msniki -- you did good as well. Being up only a pound in spite of Krispy Kreme donuts, is pretty impressive. All I have to do is smell them and I gain........ Good to have you back to the healthy area again.
Good job everyone. Have a great week.
Well my friends, I'm only up a pound this week! You might be reading this and saying why am I excited about gaining only a pound?! Well I was on vacation for Memorial day weekend and pretty much ate whatever was in sight...incldung countless krispy kreme donuts!!! But I regained myself throughout the week and only managed a pound. I'll be on the "healthy" side of town this week though!
Wow well done Elaine - I am dreading our holiday away - losing while vacationing is impressive :)
Im down 2.2lbs, thats over 2 weeks so im happy, was really good while i was away camping,
Barb you have been working really hard, good luck sorting the meds,
Well done Trudie C, Tigerlily, yallolorry on the loss
SunnyMom4,staying the same is ok I to wish i could forget about it sometimes,
Whatawoman72 well done not going up any more
I am up 0.2lb but expected more so I humbly accept the gain lol :)
I basically stayed the same this week. Its been another busy week with regular family "life" stuff which impacted on my exercise time and a few too many "social" events going on as well.
I am also finding that the will power is not as strong as it was when I started and there are days I wish I could just "forget about it" but this is where the buddy-system helps so much. My daughter reminds me when I feel like giving up and I do the same for her... here's hoping for a better week and not giving up!
let me know how you get on, I really think it has made a big difference for me. Good luck. x
Thanks for the tip. I'm going to look into it. I take Evening of Primrose Oil 2x per day and this helps with P.M.S. so I'm up for anything.
I'm down 2 pounds again, still no significant loss since I started this in January but my energy levels are definately a lot better. Got a new haircut and colour and pretty sandals this week to give myself a boost and was reminded of my old slim self looking at some old photos from my twenties and thirties, felt like a reminder of who I am / can be...feeling a bit more optimistic about all this. it helps that the weather is so nice. Have mostly been eating really sensibly, no sugar or white flour at all for the last four days but had a couple of evenings out with a few drinks which I know will be fattening, still it was nice to have the energy to do that and I certainly didn't go crazy. Taking each day at a time. Maybe June will be the month I can finally really start shifting some weight. fingers crossed it will start to happen.
Trudie I'm so happy things are looking up for you in so many ways, Tigerlily I hope you can stay away from the sweet stuff this week, I know how tough cravings can be, I've found chromium supplementation seems to have really helped me - Barb you are working so hard at this, it sounds like maybe your thyroid meds do need a tweak. good luck with your doc.
sending warm respect to all of you who have posted already and everyone yet to come.

Well I'm happy to report that I'm down 2.8 from last week. Now I'm only 0.6 away from my goal. I've been eating extra fruits and veggies. I have also been doing a lot of outside work and just finished ( thank God that's over) putting down epoxy on the basement floor. Now I'll be spending the next two weeks rearranging bedrooms and moving furniture. Hope to be done with it all by July1.
I'm also due for my period today and hope I can keep my cravings under control. I don't like working this hard to come down, just to go right back up again.
This past week I had my uterine ablation done (all went well) plus 2 job interviews. Stress was not a friend and I did do badly for a bit but am back on track. Am flying out for a job interview today and back tomorrow night. Hope I can eat properly while gone. Willpower has been a problem but I managed to fight it yesterday. I am down .2 of a lb.
