Vaginal Fissures

I wanted to start this forum up again since our other one got closed. We were all wondering what is causin our vaginal fissures or cuts. They are like paper cuts and are very painful. I have recently gotten a biopsy done and I don't get the results back til AUgust 1st. Just wanted to keep this going so we can all try and help eachother.

I need serious help! I cant stop worrying! My boyfriend and I had sex for about two hours (not the first time it was that long) 4 days ago. And about a day or two ago I noticed my vagina burning soooo badly when I pee, or when its touched even by toilet paper, or doing nothing but sitting. The lower part of my vagina, like the lips outside of the hole I think. Of course I felt sore after the sex because of obvious reasons. But this pain is almost unbearable! I don’t think I have an STD because my boyfriend doesn’t either and he isn’t experiencing anything wrong with his junk. But he did have a cold sore a little bit when he gave me oral sex...could i now have herpes!?!??!?!

Also the burning/chapped feeling continuous on the skin to my butt hole area. I REALLLLY NEED HELP! I just took a bath with Epson Salt. I’ve read some things in here, but I am too young to go to the doctors without my mother and if she found out id be toast! Im 17 though, and Im really really worried! PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Thank you

Same problems here...has been going on for over a year.  Redness, small cuts, itching, blood on toilet paper...it is worse at night. It's driving me CRAZY and am scared to death that I will have this forever.  OBGYN said to try A&D ointment...it seems to help the dryness and sometimes masks the pain but it definitely does not get to the root of my symptoms.

I am going to try the baking soda thing... thanks so much for all your posts and please let me know if you find something that works!

Thank u for this forum! I just started experiencing paper cuts on both sides of my labia just below my clitoris within the past month. I came to this forum in search of information and now feel obligated to share my information in hopes of finding a more definite cause of this condition.

-44 yrs old, married 17 mutually monogomous years
-excellent health-no issues other than lower back (spondylolisthesis, grade 2-3 which i was born with)
-5'4", 120 lbs
-no STDs including herpes, but do get fever blisters and have had shingles on the face
-never had any childhood diseases including measles, mumps or noticable chicken pox outbreak
-DO NOT take any regular meds, can't remember last time on antibiotic
-NEVER been on BC pill
-have given birth twice by C-section
-am not noticably experiencing any signs of low-estrogen levels - libido is intact, body's natural lubrication is working well, menustration is sometimes heavy but regular
-not prone to YI but have experienced when on antibiotics or steriods in past
-recently experienced a milky white discharge accompanied by itching and burning. Upon examination discovered small paper cut-looking lesions on the exterior of my vaginal area located between my clitoris and labia on both sides
-experience swelling, pain, burning and itching after sex
-burns when i urinate, if urine gets on the cuts
-cuts do not seem to be caused only by sex, can occur when i shift my legs or go to the bathroom
-do have high-stress levels (don't we all?), but always have - mom, wife, daughter, friend, volunteer, housekeeper, cook and journalist with daily deadlines
-been using neosporine with lidocaine for pain and to treat cuts which does provide temporary relief, but no long-tern healing, thus far
-treated the discharge as a YI with monistat one-day treatment, but it returned within a 3-4 days
-was extremely worried - make that TERRIFIED - about what could be happening with my body - but found some comfort in this forum knowing i am not alone. However, the lack of a consistent diagnosis, along with the misdiagnosis of an STD (mainly herpes) is cause for much more concern

This problem is obviously widespread and too many women of all ages are suffering. I have to admit that, at first, I was too embarassed to immediately consider going to my OBGYN. It's an issue most women I know would never discuss as something that could happen tp them. I am simply being honest and now realize I was also being ridiculous. Unfortunately, I fear there are more women than not who feel as I initially did. This could be a contributing factor as to why this condition is not easily recognized.
I have done a little research and put some belief in the levator muscle being a root cause. The lichen sclerosus also seems a good candidate, but might be too rare a condition - or maybe not as rare as once thought.
Like everyone else who has posted on this forum I want to know what this is, find a suitable teatment, cure or preventive measure and, hopefully, inform other women who may be silently suffering.
Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences and also for the opportunity to talk about this while contributing information that may help all of us eventually find relief.
Have a wonderful day

Yes!  I know exactly what you're experiencing. I've been told by my OBGYN that my "yeasty" symptoms and fissure are indirectly related to GBS.  I was just recently diagnosed with that after more than a year of tests and presciptions. Yes, Terzol works best for me when I have "outbreaks"; After showering, I blow dry my vaginal area instead of hand drying/patting the area---blow dry on cool.  I use Tea Tree Oil to moisturize and "fight the fungus," which helps tremendously.  I've also been tried more natural remedies so that my body doesn't become immune to the antibiotics when I have to take them.  I have been told to reduce the amount of sugar in my diet and to keep my stress levels low. I am 33, had one vaginal birth (10 years ago at which time I was given antibiotics for GBS, too), no longer on bc, but I do have more stress in my life than I'd like. Hope what I've shared is helpful.

I am so relieved to know that this is an issue that occurs offten. And it seems every women is different but we all share the same similarities. I too get lesions and its ALWAYS right BEFORE my period comes on this is also associated with itching. Only one sexual partner, but we do not use protection. I have also been tested for Herpes and it was negative. I douche so I am not sure whether that may be the source of my problems. The last time I went to the Dr I had BV, and I get yeast infections quite often as well. Any one else in this same predicament?

i had been experiencing this condition relentlessly for two years. my mother after doing alot of research suggested i try 100% pure emu oil . i started using the oil about 10 months ago, applying after i shower and haven't experienced any symptoms or pain unless i forget to put it on regularly. i don't know if it helps every one but it has been  beyond useful for me!
