cramps and menopause

Is it normal to have menstrual cramping and no period?  My period is 1 week late, I am 50 years old. I have had severe menstrual cramps and lower back pain but my period is not coming. I have always had very regular periods - this is very abnormal for me. I have no other menopausal symptoms.

It is normal it sounds like you are in the beginning stages of memopause, your periods can be very different while going through it. I would stay on some form of birth control until you have gone clear through it. Menppausal babies are not uncommon.
