lower back problems

when i had my son i had the epidural, and my back hurts alot but more when it is cold. is that a side effect from it?

It could be!  I had an emergency c-section with my first son, and I had a spinal.  Since then (7 years ago) my right hip/butt/leg has had this half/ghostly/weird numb feeling.  I can still "feel" it, but its different.  I can't really explain it any better than that.  But - I went to the neurologist for something unrelated, and during the neuro exam he noticed the difference in sensation and told me it was probably due to the spinal and that a lot of women who have spinals or epidurals get strange lingering effects like this.  
However - if it is a problem for you, or you are unsure/concerned about it I would say talk to your doctor.  Maybe there is something they can do for you!
