neverending bleeding!

I didn't have a period for 3 months. Finally started on october 24th and have had it ever since! Was normal for awhile then slowed, then got heavy again. My doctor put me on provera to try to stop it. Didn't work. So here I am going on almost a month of bleeding, and its getting worse. I am bleeding through a pad every hour to 2 hours, everytime I move it makes it worse. I called my doctor and she said the hormones take a couple weeks to kick in. In the meantime I am freaking out! This can't be healthy! Has this happened to anyone? Should I be worried? How much bleeding is too much?

Well I finally stopped bleeding on nov. 20th. So my bf and I continued our quest to conceive. We had intercourse on the 21st  and the 23rd. Now today I have very faint brownish discharge. Is it too soon for implantation bleeding? I have no idea when my cycle started or when I would be due for my next period since its been so screwed up. When should I take an hpt?

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. Until you figure this out, you should make sure you take iron supplements.  I have a hard time taking prescription iron, so when I need to I use a chelated iron from the supplement store.  It is made by Soloray.  Until you are told otherwise, only use the dosage as directed on the bottle.  For a while, though, when I was very iron deficient myself, I was instructed by all my doctors to use 100 mg.  It isn't wise to do this, though, unless you are instructed to do so.  But, do take the 50 mg, because you are losing blood everyday, which means you are losing iron, too.

This sounds like there is a possibility you will need surgery, so until you know for sure, definitely monitor your iron and supplement it.  Having your iron where it needs to be will help immensely if you do need to have surgery.

I have known others that this happened to, including my own mother.
