subox

I am taking suboxyen, not sure about that spelling.  Anyway I have been taking subox for about 9 months just recently my feet and ankles have started swelling up extremely, just wondered if that has happened to anyone else.  I have also gained about 25 pounds in the last 5 months.  Does anyone have any suggestions for help.

Thank you

Hi Annie - Twolve,

Suboxone and opiates in general do not cause adema or swelling like you have described.  This is most likely being caused by something else.  Are you on any other medications or do you have any other health issues that you are willing to discuss that could help identify the potential problem?  What is your dose of sub?

Twolve - I am from Phoenix - just spend the holidays there last week, it was so nice.  I agree with your comments to - something with diet, like high sodium or poor eating could also be a factor here, but I would very much doubt the sub has anything to do wih this.

i have never heard anything about swelling limbs being associated with sub use. Typically opiates can cause people to eat poorly because we crave sweets and things like that. I was a college athlete just recently graduated and got a little harder into the opiates (which suboxone most certainly is, even though its used to get people off of them). How is your diet? Are you eating healthy? Also. how many mgs per day are you on?
