I had prostate remove in 1996; now my PSA has increase from .1 to current .8. PSA went from .6 to .8 within one month. What is going on? I have been place on Proscar 5mg and Casodex 50mg. Will diet help PSA.

When the prostate is removed, the PSA should fall to within undetectable levels.  A rising PSA is suspicious for recurrent cancer.

Diagnostic options would include a digital rectal exam, CT scan, bone scan, or ProstaScint scan - all to look for extra-prostatic recurrence of cancer.

These options should be discussed with your urologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
