I was first prescibed Arimidex. I felt like I had the flu all the time.I have switched to tamoxifen and I feel much better now. The painful sex could be coming from lack of lubrication and maybe thining of the walls of the vagina or from a slight bacterial infection of some type. I would discuss this with your family doc or your gynecologist.. female doctor... and your sex partner. Ask him to be gentle and patient and use KY jelly or some other type of water soluble lubricate. Some people are allergic to condoms as well. The other possiblity,, though far reaching.. could be your partners secretions could be too alkaline.. which can be cause by prostate cancer and certain foods....I am not experiencing cramping but I had already gone through menapause when I started taking the tamoxifen.  I understand that most people tolerate tamoxifen well. That being said.. everybody responds to meds differently. You know what you feel. Ask your doctor for help. Some women do have their ovaries removed to stop the production of estrogen. I would exhaust all other opportunities first. You sound spunky and I believe you can find the solution if you do not give up.  Best of luck . Let me hear from you..
