I don't know if you're still reading this but I know exactly how you feel. I  had a lens replacement surgery in my left eye because of cataracts and I am very unhappy about it  My peripheral vision is completely messed up, almost blind. The only hope I have is to get my lens replaced with one that is hopefully better. The lens I have has square edges and is made of acrylic. Apparently I can get one made out of silicone with rounded edges and it will help. I wish I knew exactly what brand I should get and strength and such. I am also having other issues like missing color and having too high of contrast. I have yet to find out what lenses will help most with that.

Ask your surgeon to work with you and explain your preferences and the two of you can find the best IOL to reduce or eliminate your problems. Also consider getting a second opinion for another Eye MD  find one a www.aao.org
