My husband had his entire Thyroid removed 2 weeks ago. He has Hurthle Cell Cancer and another kind of Cancer. His TSH is: .2. Is that Normal or not? He is so Fatigued. Can't barely Move. He has been on some type of Synthroid and it's a pill and it's not working.
Hi,
it is usual to take the eltroxin in 1 dose a day, rather than two. However, it doesn't matter one or two doses a day, as long as your TSH comes down to the appropriate level (1 - 2).
Once your TSH is at the appropriate level, you will need to maintain your meds for the rest of your life. This is not so hard.
You will also need to have your thyroid levels tested every 6 - 12 months, or more often if you are having symptoms as thyroid levels can change over time.
Wonderful that you are feeling so much better. Possibly your current dose of meds is right.
Learn as much as you can about thyroid so you can be knowledgable and proactive in your own long-term management.
Best wishes
hi and welcome!
May I ask why it was removed? Autoimmune or cancer suspect?
There are other meds if this one doesn't work .......
I wish I had more answers for you .. others will jump in I'm sure!
