Broccoli and other cruciferous veggies like cauliflower and cabbage are filled with vitamin C and other antioxidants that help protect your brain from damage caused by free radicals; free radicals are more abundant in the brain simply because the brain uses a lot of energy to function. A Harvard Medical School study found that women who ate the most of these veggies lowered their brain age by one to two years, according to Prevention magazine.
