3 Year Old Diagnosed with SPD now w/controlling behavior

Hello ,
My 3 year old son, was duagnoed with SPD, propreoceptive type, along with oral defensiveness. We have been doing OT for close to one year.
Now i notice more controlling behavior displayed by him, rouines having to be just so, him calling the shots, if a squence of events is not right to him, he melts down.
I also notice if he os overstimulated or tired, the repetivieness will get worse, There are time I have to reapt things still it sounds "just right : to him evn thiugh there is only one answer for the question. He wants me to do all aspects of hois care,, if dad tied and change him or feed him"no mommy has to" and th emelt down begins, if my husband get him in th emorning from bed, he will get upset, it has to be me, Unruley in stire or open spacesm will not listen to me 50% of the day..
I am torn with what is sensory and what is a 3 year old boy behavior
Even with the way food looks , it has to be just right, now he is only preferring foods from a certain resturant and will melt if it smewhere else.
My husband says I spoil him and it is a dicipline issue, but i disagree.
my son is realy smart, already knows the alphabet , number and is very articulate, very inquisitive. He has great eye contact, very social .
He also has chronic asthma and is on pulmacor 2x a day in a nebulizer, and on singular tab once a day.
he is allergic to peanuts as well.
OT thiking there is a chemical imbalance, I am heartbroken.
Please advise

Please post over on the child behavior forum.  There is a parent there (due to her own son) who is an expert on SPD.  Label your post something like spd help.  I will follow up and make sure she gets back to you (but I know she will).  I have a great deal of respect for her, and she will be able to help.
And yes, from what I have read from her posts, these symptoms are common to SPD.  It is NOT a discipline issue, and there is a lot that you can do to help.  Best wishes
