Does the wetting problem happen all day - or only in the afternoon when his meds might be wearing off?

Oh, increased urination IS a side effect of risperadol.  Talk to your doctor.  That is an antipsychotic medication that is now used in other areas but may not be the best fit for your son.  It can increase thirst and also urination.

hi sorry new to this site, my son is on risperidol as can have challenging behaviours and is very impulsive and hyperactive.

he went through a stage of being dry for a couple of week and was telling us when he needed to go which was brilliant but now has completley forgotten all about this and back to constantly wetting and when we ask heim to use the toilet he refuses and says he doenst need to go. he has only been on this medication for 1 week!!!

It might help if you gave us some information on his behavior in general so that we could understand your little boy better. He must have many problems if he has been diagnosed with these three conditions.

Someone suggested on another forum with this question that add/adhd medications might cause more frequent urine.  I googled this and tried to research it and couldn't find anything to support that.  It isn't a common side effect or complaint that I could find in 3 pages of google hits.

Does your son take medication by the way?

kids with Adhd do have more of a problem with bathroom issues.  You really have to work on a schedule with them and also be very consistent.  I think susan ashley in her book , the adhd answer book - talks about it.  at any rate, the book is worth getting formany reasons.   You also might want to check out the posts on the child behaviour forum.  there are always a lot of posts about wetting, etc and some very good suggestions.
