quick problem need answer

quick question.. I have a friend that was drugged at a local pub for allegedly cocaine. Hes not a drug user and has been clean for 10 years. He is currently a member of the military.. A week later he had to get blood work completed to check his thyroids. He is worried for his position due to some dumb person at the pub. Can a thyroid test detect illegal drugs?

i dont think thyroid has to do anything wid da drug.
.....secondly thyroxine values do not change in days.dats why ppl having thyroid prblms hav tests after about 6 months.

From what I googled there are many factors involved as to how long it stays in the body and it causes the body to produce some chemical that is a tell tale sign. So as has been said, go to the dr. The tests have improved over the years. It is worth the cost of an office visit.

You asked about a thyroid test detecting illegal drugs I considered it would require an experts answer, RR has given you information that is good.. I still say inspite of the above post it requires an expert to tell you about the test for illegal drugs...

According to Wikipedia (you might want to research it elsewhere) cocaine can be detected in a blood sample only up to 24 hours after use.
