911........Where were you 9 years ago?

Just wondering where everyone was 9 years ago during our nations worst tragedy.

I remember I was on my way to work and stopped for a pack of cigarettes and everyone in the store was watching on T.V....almost as if they were watching a friends funeral.

It is hard to believe it has been 9 years.

A friend of mine here in the town in which I live was one of the ATC people controlling one of the flights from Boston, and can be seen on a couple of the TV programs that have covered the tragedy...to this day he won't talk about it (and has since retired) and returned to his love...teaching kids to play baseball..we worked together in a local girl's softball league.  His voice can be heard on tapes trying to reach the airplane, and talking to other controllers re: the situation.

my wife and i had to drive from our home in New Hampshire to a Doctor appt in Boston...normally when we go these appts we have the radio on but we were talking and just didn't feel like listening to the radio..we got to the building around 9AM, I dropped my wife off as I parked the car, went to get a cup of coffee..got into an elevator and a woman says "that's really terrible about what's happening in New York"  "what is happening?" I asked...at that time the reports were it was a small plane..by the time I got to the floor my wife's doctor was on everyone was gathered around TVs and I watched in horror at what was transpiring..saw the first building collapse and the absolute horror of people jumping out of window...and then the second..they quickly finished up appointments and sent people home...we were in a highrise building downtown...driving home was so eerie listening to the radio in shock, seeing people rushing to get home not knowing what was going to happen next.

By coincidence...my wife is in that same building today for an appointment.  I still get a funny feeling when I go in there.

I was a freshman in high school, sitting in Algebra class. They announced it over the PA and then we spent the rest of the day listening to the news on the TVs.

I was about to go to bed for the night when a newsflash came on television saying what had happened, only one plane had hit at this stage and I thought it was an accident,I went to bed and my husband woke me at 5am the next morning with the news of the horrible reality that was 9-11.Those images will be with me forever.People waving from windows needing help,And we all know what some resorted to,just to escape the flames, tears are running down my cheeks thinking of that day of infamy.

I was working in a factory where there were no tv's, only radios.  I worked back in the fab and weld shop.  I remember the deafening silence as the machines came to a halt, welders were shut down and we stood and just stared at the radios.....It was such a numbing sickening feeling and still is.

Our town is having a memorial service for the lives lost and the heroes.  The American Flag is flying proudly from the ladder truck of our Fire Dept.  I grew up with a hero, my dad as he was a fireman all his life~~~~sara

I was just pulling into the gym. Got out went into the lobby and saw it on the TV. The new guy behind the counter started pitching me for personal training. I thought, "Really? Don't you see the world is falling to pieces, and you think I give a rip about signing up for personal training???"  It was a very sad day for all of us. It rained in California and it never does that time of year. I knew God was weeping.

I was sitting right here watching television when it was interrupted. At first they showed the Twin Towers then on to the Pentagon and finally to Flight 93. I remember sitting here in horror and thinking what a tragedy it was and a senseless loss of life. I still think that.

I was home in front of the TV. I worked until 2 am. It was just horrific to watch. I cried like a baby.I saw the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower live. It was like some bad movie. The people jumping out the windows. The attacks seemed like they went on for ever. N.Y, P.A., DC. I was scared and so sad. Called my mom and dad and my now husband. 9 years already.
I will never forget......
