I remember reading this article a while back. It's amazing how he overcame all of that! It's kind of scary too...I've had 10 surgeries in my lifetime and so far I've never encountered any problems with anesthesia. Sometimes I wake up extremely numb and sometimes I wake up in pain, but I just chalk it up to the fact that different anesthesiologists use different combinations of drugs. But I guess you just never know...
Wow, that is scary! I never even thought of them syphoning off patient's drugs. I had surgery in Feb. '09 and my anesthesiologist was a woman and she was great so I was fortunate.
I wonder what the anesthesiologist's think about Dr. Gold's conclusions that many of them are getting addicted from the fentanyl in the air around the patient's mouth and then them breathing it in.
I know one thing, when I go back to work, I don't want it to be in any type of healthcare position where I have to hear about pain meds. all the time. Maybe I can get a job at a gym..lol..gotta build up those endorphins right? ;-) Thanks for sharing the article..really interesting.
wow amazing article makes you think huh..??....
