Barb i agree w bullying elimination my friends daughter was found hanging. She survived. And is now doing well shes 14 and spent the whole summer in the hospital. She also od 2times on sleepin meds. Shes bp1 and like i said real good now. But a bully or 4 caused this...they were arrested
That is a beautiful bucket list Barb! You are right about the bully awareness. Last year my daughter found out that one of the cheerleaders (beautiful, energetic, perfectionist) but also Very rude and hateful at times, was being sexually abused at home. My daughter learned a huge lesson to NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER! I think that team building in school is a GREAT idea... Sometimes kids just need help to bridge the gap between the"jock" and the "nerd"
Selfishly, I want a cure found to my illness so I can do some of these things.
I want to visit the Maldives, on the first stop of a year long travel, which includes seeing the all 50 states, I have visited 28.
I would love the physical ability to volunteer for habitat for humanity. Studies show children whose parents own versus rent have a better success rate in life. Even if its a small, simple home. It inspires pride and security. I would love to see the day every American family is a home owner, and family dinners were the norm.
I want to see Alabama win another national championship, while I am seated on the fifty yard line. ( Hey it is a bucket list)
I want to see my kids happy as they transition into adulthood, and find someway to send my daughter to school to fulfill her dream of being a marine biologist.
I want to do BASE jumping across bridges of America.
I want to see a reduction and/or total elimination of bullying, especially cyber bullying, which is causing an alarming rise in teenage suicide. On that note I am talking with my daughter and her friends, and hoping to talk with the high school principal about raising money to bring in awareness activities that involve students participation, such as "if you really knew me" which was done in some high schools across America, and parts aired on MTV. I read reactions from students from one high school that participated, and they learned from it. Real tears were shed. They learned that the "jock" may be struggling with the same fears as the "geek". Very powerful stuff. I am tired of hearing its a money issue with the schools. This is every bit as important as learning how to pick out France on a map. Ok, tirade over lol. I get a little passionate.
And finally I would to make up millions of t shirts with my favorite saying *Kindness Can Change the World* and give them out freely across America.
Now I'm crying....that ouched me when I needed it. You always do that lady...
