I think the show is a bit unrealistic regarding what true treatment centers are like for "normal people" (altho it does blow my mind the motley crews on the past 3 seasons are considered celebrities)....... and most addicts don't get paid 200K for a 28 day stint in rehab, generally the focus is to get sober, not to get a paycheck. Nor do "regular folk" have private rooms, treat the staff with complete and total disrepect, nor is it an option to "sleep in" and skip group, smoke cigs anywhere indoors ...... The few that did make it were in rehab for serious detox before joining the Dr Drew show ie Brigette Nielson.... you can google the quote unquote stars and see what their treatment consisted of in it's entirety, assuming they were sober for longer than the time frame of the show being filmed.
I am pleased the awareness of epidemic drug abuse is being recognized, however, I am extremely disappointed in the complete lack of reality in the the VH1 Reality Show .... Celebrity Rehab...Season 3.
Kari Ann needs a slap in the face.......she's way out of line an spoiled to boot. She's been living a priviledge life for too long......she wouldn't last a day in the real world
Kari Ann was on the sex addict one.......but the reason she got kicked out was because she was using drugs and no one knew. That is why they brought her back to this one...it's more appropriate for her. I guess she was using speed the whole time.
I just wanna smack that Kari Ann. She was on another season and got kicked out for being a total witch. I realize as addicts we have problems and severe addictions need to learn coping skills but come on.....there is no reason to be that nasty to everyone...especially to Dr. Drew. Grrrrrrr I hope she shuts up and stops acting like a princess.
i was able to watch the entire 2nd season online on the vh1 site. i got a lot out of that season. it had model, amber smith on it and her doc was opiates (my ah's doc). she had been on them her constant for the last 16 yrs along with her mother. watching her detox, her talking about how she was able to hide it for so long since it is such an easy addiction to hide, how she had it under control for so long and then how it spiraled down SO fast and then her struggles with the rush of emotions she started feeling once she wasnt numbing herself really let me "see" things about hubby's addiction. asking ?'s and getting answers is great but seeing it "in action" put a more intense spin on it.
I LOOOOVE watching this show. BTW, there is a sneak during the day on Thursday, I want to say around 11 am Central. I agree that Dennis and Tom are my biggest worries as far as relapsing. Dennis is clearly in denial and doesn't care to change his ways. Tom really scares me alot seems like a great guy until that gf of his comes around. Heidi definitely does seem like something is just not right but she is a smart lady and I'm sure she'll get things figured out. Her whole bird over people obsession is a bit scary though. Hopefully she'll begin trusting people again. Kari Ann is just a plain or B. I mean she is just nasty and needs to be put in her place !!!! McKenzie is so sweet. I feel very sorry for everything she has gone through. Joey is a major loose cannon. He is truly scary.
Good topic !!! I was wondering if anyone else watched that show !!! Have a good weekend all
I gotta agree, I think the only way those people could avoid relapse is to move away from Hollywood.. The environment needs to change..
heidi fleiss looks ROUGH, i mean really, really rough!!! wow. and that new girl (cant remember her name is a witch!!
as for Mike/ AIC bassist I wonder how he is going to do after rehab since in the 1st episode they showed him in a van with his dad doing heroin. If his dad doesnt sober up while he's in rehab, how will he not relapse when he gets out? and Tom sizemore...another relapse waitin to happen IMO.
anyways, yes I really enjoy the show and hope they all make a good recovery although the odds are not good that all of them can stay clean
Yes, I did mess up.....the show is on VH1, not MTV. My bad....
Mike used to be the bassist for Alice in Chains....a long time ago.ei
troubleinohio: Yes, Dennis Rodman is a piece of work. The last episode I watched he actually admitted to being an alcoholic though so that was a big step for him. Mackenzie Phillips is also my favorite. She has been through hell and she seems to be the only one on the show that is actually trying the most to get clean. I like her alot. I don't care for Heidi Fleiss though. Not sure about her....she doesn't seem like she really wants to change....
Anyway, I thought it was a great show to watch as a recovering addict. I can relate to so much of what they are saying on that show.....
I am watching it as we speak.. I would not watch it when I was using.. I would actually get up and leave the room if it was on.. Now, I am infatuated with it .. lol
So, who is Mikey .. Rock band ??
yep Ive watched it every episode this year too. This is the first season I've even seen the show though. It is a good show but wow that dennis rodman is a real piece of work. i hope he finally sees the light soon! I think Mackenzie Phillips is a really strong woman and i like her the most out of this group of people. SHe seems so sincere and desperate to get herself better, and has been through HELL in her life!
PS I watch it on VH1, not MTV (though it could be on both networks, Im not sure)
