Fay is headed straight for us !

Well, it looks like "Fay" is headed straight for us, some time Tues AM. Right now it's just a tropical storm but they expect it to turn into a hurricane when it gets back into the water. The cone takes it right on top of us (Charlotte County). OMG, I can't beleive this may happen again. We were hit so badly by Charlie. This is freaking me out. My sister is coming over today to help me get ready. OMG   I don't want to have to rebuild again.
Wish us luck and pray it stays a tropical storm.

Ah its just a storm with some wind and rain
Sike I hope you guys stay safe down there my sister lives in Florida so hopefully this storm wont be that bad however I hope it comes to N.C. we need to get out of this drought we are in.

I also live right in the bulls eye area and this is the last thing any of us need right now!! When Charlie came through we didn't have power for 4 days and everything was a mess. We couldn't get gas, cigarettes, or water. Thankfully this time I went out yesterday and filled up our gas cans, filled up the cars, got plenty of smokes, and I have lots of water. I love living in Florida except I could certainly do without these darn hurricanes!!

I just seen the news here in Cali..not 5 minutes ago, they were showing Marathon FL and Tranquility Bay (looks like a resort)they were saying too that it might not be as bad as they first thought...I hope not. They do say it's comin' but shouldn't be as bad. What do we know???!!!! You get packed and prepared..we'll keep praying...keep us posted!!

This is always a scary time.  I remember we had just started back to school when Katrina hit and turned our lives upside down.  I hope and pray that we don't have a repeat of that dreadful time.

Rose, Thanks, you just reminded me to go get extra ciggs. Don't want to run out of those and not be able to get more. I hate this hurricane stuff.  And this time I'll be alone in the house with the dogs. Should I call my husband back...LOL, only kidding. Mary is telling me to calm down, thats it's not going to be anything....thats what she was saying before Charlie. Then BOOM.  I guess we'll just wait and see.  Everyone in it's path, stay safe.

Lizzie,   Yes, you need to keep an eye on the news too. Although, I think they show it going threw Tampa (sorry, Rose), then up threw the center of Florida, which should slow it down alot. But it still has time to giggle, so watch the news. Good luck to you.

This track is looking scarier and scarier for the Tampa Bay Area. It's been a long time since we've endured a direct hit! I will continue to update everyone for as long as I can!

We're still showing a direct hit, then Rose in Tampa. The bad news is, it's slowing down and the presure is dropping, which means it can turn into a stronger storm once it gets back over water. Last night we got one of the spin off bands from it....lots of rain.
It still hasn't crossed Cuba. Cross your fingers, Cuba breaks it up enough to kill it. I hate this !!!!!

magi, mari and rose (and everyone else there in FL) - you guys will be in my thoughts- I hope your storm is minimal!! I cant imagine living down there for many reasons but particularly because of the hurricanes (and this is coming from a storm chaser, LOL. but hey here in Ohio...we just get the wham bam thank you maam - type of thunderstorms-- gone fast and the occasional tornado nearby. It's 4:00am in the morning and all is well in Tampa. The storm still hasn''t made landfall but it looks like it will enter the state south of us and then blow right up through the state. As time goes on I will keep you guys posted.

Looks like we are in the clear.  The storm came on land south of us near Marco Island.
So we will be getting the west side of the storm which is great. The winds are much worse on the east side of it.  I dread having to move all my patio furniture and plants back out.  My back can't take any more of these storm scare's. lol

Thanks for the prayers everyone. No hurricane, just tropical storm, which is a breeze...lol. It's windy and rainy now, will get alittle worse in a few hours but no big deal. Like Mary, my back is killing me from all the moving. I'll wait a couple of days before moving everything back.

A sore back is no fun, but a wiped out house is worse. Glad that things are not going to be too bad. Hopefully the sun will come out soon and dry things up.
