Fear.

One of the most prominent part of withdrawal is fear. When we decide we are ready to withdraw all the negative comments made by those who have successfully withdrawn and all those whom failed in their attempts comes flooding into your mind and instead of a stimulus it has a way of causing hesitancy. That is fear. You have to remeber bthat you are not the person who tells you one thing or another for or against withdrawing. You are your own person and what others have to say negatively should not hold sway. If it is what you want you have to go positive and that is the only way you are going to make it. When you think of the person who says anything in a negative manner or if you read somewhere that withdrawal can do this that or the other thing to you you have to say to yourself,"I am not you . this is me and I can stand alone. I am strong enough and I am willing enough to see this through. Just because you are afraid doesn't mean that I should tremble with fear. This is my time and if you can't be there for me, stand back because here I come." Anyone who wants it bad enough and is willing to navigate the pitfalls and obstacles and get back up when falling, regardless of how often will in the long run, prevail. The point in question is who are you and how much are you willing to take to get there? Don't ask the other guy how to travel the road because it will be different for everyone. They can support you and give you an idea here or there but in the final analysis it is you and you alone that succeeds or fails.

I agree.  After reading the forum, I was terrified of all the things I read, but when I finally did it.  I have to say that I couldn't relate to the horror as described on the forum.  My withdrawal was nothing like what I read.  It was pretty minor......i had symptoms, but nothing like some.  I couldn't / can't relate to many.

I was taking a pretty low dose compared to many.  It was not pleasant, but i found that if you keep your mind occupied as much as possible it goes by miserably fast, but its certainly doable.  I feel fortunate that I didn't get to deep. keeping busy and plugging through it is the best way.  I tried the laying in bed for weeks and that just makes it worse, but that may be the only way for some.  You are so right.  We have similiar experiences that we can share, but to what degree ......depends on the person...............

Nauty..........

As jimi1822 said in a journal one time "Go with a spirit that fears nothing"......That one has stuck with me ever since.
