norco addiction?????

I have been on norco 5/500 for 3 years and am ready to come off; not because of lack of pain, but because I know they are addictive. I never feel like I just have to have one.  I've only taken one at a time and probably 4 to 5 a day. I was down to 2 a day then tried to go cold turkey and not take any--at all.  When I stopped taking them for 4-5 days altogether, I had really bad headaches and sweats.  I've been reading other peoples comments about them trying to kick the habit.  No one has ever said they had headaches.  I am wondering if the norco is masking a serious problem I have in my head. I have sweats alot.  I'm 43, so I think I may be having hot flashes-- I don't know. I started taking 3-5 a day again. I do still have pain, but I just want to take regular tylenol, excercise and stretch; and hope this will help.

I personally never had headaches, but have heard from others that they had them along with other various pains.  I, like you was clueless.  I couldn't figure out why every time I didn't take them " I got the flu"  I thought they were masking an underlying condition too, so I took them to mask my fears.  Oh, boy......that was a mistake!!

U are probably fine, and they could mask underlying conditions I guess, but what you are experiencing is most likely plain ole withdrawal.  If you can get away with some sweats and headaches, you are very lucky.

Get out now when the gettins good!

luv,
nauty...........

Headaches are a withdrawal symptom. I had them almost every day for two months. Then, they started getting better. Now, they're nonexistent. The hot and cold flashes are withdrawal symptoms as well. Give yourself some serious clean time and things will improve.
