Depression has been around since the dawn of time. Over the years it has been fed by the knowledge of its existence. People used to fight it one on one with tools like love and compassion. Depression met a friend named Stress and they joined forces. They were unintelligent at first. They started winning battles by taking many people’s lives away. Sometimes stress would assist depression and sometimes depression would assist stress. Depression was better at taking people’s lives.
One day an intelligent, compassionate person named Jesus saw these demons and realized how strong they were. He had the capacity to meet people and take the demons away from them. When he died he took the demons with him. They were re-born and they had found a new friend name Fear. They were re-born right before Jesus. However they no longer had the strength to take on the masses of people who had developed love and compassion that was unshakable.
They finally found their way back into people’s hearts by combining into an intelligent, overwhelming demon called Greed. Symptoms of Greed are depression, fear, and stress. Greed took over and succeeded where Fear, Stress, and Depression had failed. It had little interest in taking one or two spirits here and there, it wanted them all.
Greed had the ability to make people forget about spreading love and compassion. Most everyone struggled with it and the best they could hope for was to find peace within their self. Violence, wars, and murder are the tools of greed. Compassion
introduced these things but Greed defeated compassion a long time ago and now possesses them.
There is not likely a person on this Earth that can defeat Greed because we are told we can never be perfect. People are just as afraid of Compassion as they are of Greed but accept Greed without question. Too much Greed will make you kill people it can also make you kill yourself. Compassion is the outward expression of love. Anger is the outward expression of Greed.
As many of you know I am not religious, I am spiritual. The Bible is a great text book and is responsible for some amazing miracles. It could be credited with some amazing selfless acts. It could also be called “Starter Handbook for Life on Earth.”
This was my abstract way of looking at life.
We live in cycles, some big, and some small. Pay close attention to the ironies of life and enjoy them.
*Warning* This will definitely sound too spiritual as you read it…. Just laugh and say Larry is crazy.
