Hey Mary
Very nice post so many people feel desperate this time of year....Myself included and things may get better they may get worse but family and friends will help many through these tough times.....Many people have to make a decision to be bitter or to move on, i know alot about this as terrible hardship has befallen me before and with my families support I got through it........Give encouragment to those in need....and take care of yourself and your family.

Totallost............I'm sorry , I didn't mean to sound like I had the answers, and I'm so sorry your alone. I'm not sure what country your in , but maybe local Churches could help.
We are a great family here on the forum if you need to talk.
Picture me giving you a BIG HUGE HUG ! Personal message me if you want to chat.
Sending you tons of good wishes. Mary
Tel me Mary, what do you do when you have no family no friends and nobody to hold on to and you are abroad in a foreign country?
No problem. We aren't really having problems (yet) with the mortgage, my husband was worried about it since he lets me do the bills. I have the tendency to just give my stuff away rather than sell it, maybe it's time to think outside the box for awhile. I do have many clothes I doubt will fit anymore, and even if I got to a 10 again, I'd be so thrilled I'd buy new, cheaper ones. Thanks for the good vibes.Have a great Holiday...cat
Catmagnet..... I'm sorry, I didn't want people to think I have a solution for them because I don't. I just wanted to give a little hope for everyone feeling the way I did a few weeks ago. I really thought nothing good would ever happen again, but it did. So many people are suicidal because of the economy. It's awful and I know the feeling.
I do recommend if you are having trouble with your mortgage to call your lender. Some are making deals to keep from foreclosure. It costs the banks tons of money to foreclose so they are starting to work with people. Also see if theres anything around your house you can live without and list it on Craigslist. I can't believe how fast stuff sells on there, and no charge for listing it.
I know many of you live up north and it's not the kind of weather for a garage sale. We've been lucky here. Magi has ideal location for garage sale. We don't even need to put up signs. We've made hundreds of dollars just selling clothes that don't fit anymore.
Cat......I so hope things turn around for you. Sending you tons of good karma.
Magi has been selling large items on Craigs list. I just sold my pool heater yesterday and that's where she sold her bedroom set etc. It's Free to list your stuff. Then local people call if their interested and come get it. It's great.
where have you been selling everything at??
By the way, what is your solution?? I could use some advice!!!!
Thank you for this post, we just went through a bad spell, too. I think christmas in general has too long a season nowadays, all the advertisements for diamonds, expensive cars, etc. Not practical in this economy. I finally just went out and bought a few gifts for my family. At least we have each other. I'm sure our parents went through similar times....cat
Yup, been selling just about everything I own. Just sold my gorgeous bedroom set and my beautiful wedding band (that killed me). But hey, its just stuff. So if you're really struggling, start thinking about what you can live without. It is really kind of freeing.
HelpinUtah.......Thanks you so much and hope you have a great Holiday !
Newgirl......lol This is not the answer to every one's problems, was just the answer to mine. Myself and 2 sisters are giving up our houses. We are all out of work, doing what ever we can ( washing windows, garage sales). We pooled some money and bought a really cheap foreclosure house (with guest house) and are paying cash for it. Needs work but we have the time. lol Even before the economy went bad, I was worried how I was going to keep up. My hips and back just keep getting worse. I was so, so very depressed. I thought it would be awful to give up the house I love, but it isn't . It's a relief. Life will be so much less stressful without a mortgage.
Just a few weeks ago I felt hopeless. I just wanted people that are feeling this way.....ya never know what tomorrow or next week will bring. It might not be exactly how you planned, but hang in there.
Wishing everyone suffering because of economy some relief and hope .
Mary:
I know this is a difficult time for many, but I think as families, friends and neighbors we can all help each other out. I'm so glad you have found some solutions.
I wish you the best and your family! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year will bring more peace for all of us!
Lots of love,
Janet
