Hello Everybody

Thought I'd pop in and say hello...it's been quite a while.  I'm still unemployed..overqualified and all that sort of stuff for what I've been going for. I'm starting to count down the days til I can retire..1 year, and about 20 days..We're geting by OK..doing work around the yard.

As an update, our 2 daughters up and moved to Orlando 2 weeks ago.  They'd gone down there a month or so ago with their mom while my oldest daughter did a swim/dive test for Sea World which sadly she didn't pass but she made up her mind that's where she wanted to live.  A few days after her return she totaled her car (no injuries) and got enough money for my youngest daughter and her to load up all they could on her Ford Focus, including a boxer, cat and 3 ferrets, and off they went.  We went down to visit them last week and they are quite happy down there but were sure glad to see us..they showed us around the area (we only spent one day at a theme park) which was fun...it was hot but I loved it, particularly since it's been cool and rainy here in NH since we got back Tuesday night.

Bear is happier with the Boxer gone..he's just not geared for another dog being around.

Meanwhile I continue to look for some kind of work but thankfully we're in OK shape financially so we can go on a few more months...

I hope all are doing well..haven't been keeping up...sorry...but will try to.  Still off tramadol and doing fine.  I think it's been almost a year now..I've lost track.

Love to all

Jim

Rubbermaid has some steps that work great to get a dog in a truck or van.  My neighbor had them for his german shepard.  Stop by the convenience store  where i work as we always have bones for our favorite customers!!!  Oh and when you do could you please bring me a cup of Green Mountain coffee.....I take mine black and strong!!

I never got into Springsteen until my son took me to see him 2-3 years ago and I was hooked...the amount of energy he pours into every show is amazing and it is just plain old rock and roll..I don't know what they're going to do without Clarence if they tour again.  I know at one time his son filled in for him at times much like Jay Weinberg (Max's son) fills in on drums and does a great job.   I have my satellite radio tuned to the Springsteen channel all the time ;-)

I don't think Bear has hip dysplasia...the vet seems to think it's arthritis..we give him 2 (get this) tramadol a day and it seems to help...he can make it up the stairs a little quicker.  But he can't get into my truck so I'm going to make up a ramp of some sort so he can ride with me.  The ladies at the local CVS miss him.  Everytime we pull up to the drive in window and he's with me..they say "Hey, Bear's here!" and they all come running over loading him up with treats.  Even when he's not with me, they give me treats to give him...and he's much happier now that my daughter's boxer is gone...that experiment wasn't a total failure but close to it.

whoa...time to go pick up my wife...g'night y'all...

I loved Clarence but Springsteen in general I could do without. I was living at the Jersey shore and going to the Stone Pony when he burst on the scene. Contrary to what he says, he was actually booed off the stage when he first began. It was years before he became popular, but never in my house. But you know I like The Grateful Dead so THAT I could do...anytime!!

My Golden had Hip Dysplasia so I know how they get when they aren't feeling well. Mine was a big baby so, of course, I had to spoil him silly. He was on medication but in addition I used to put a moist heating pad on his hips (while he laid on the bed). Whether or not it actually helped, I don't know but he loved every minute of it!!

I do the Breakfast Blend---you seem to like your coffee a bit stronger than I do. You and Sarah could have a great coffee get-together!!! LOL

Hey Jim, still waiting to see those new pics????

Hi IBK!  Yes, I'm drinking Green Mountain's Dark magic but as soon as Starbucks hits the shelves, in a few months, that's where I'm going.  They'll be marketing it through Green Mountain.  I've become hooked on  Starbucks caramel machiatto either hot or iced.  Heaven in a cup ;-)  but it's a 20 mile round trip to the nearest Starbucks store here.  Grrrr..where my son lives in Georgia (and manages 2 stores) they're practically on every corner.

Bear is doing fine, though he has some arthritis and has a tough time going up stairs :-(  When we were in Orlando last week my son said he was connected to him at the hip..and now that we're back he follows me everywhere I go.

My son got me tickets to see "Furthur" (remnants of the Grateful Dead and some other musicians) in July..can't wait for that.  Phil Lesh, the Dead and Further's bass player is nearing 73 years old and still rocking.

But I find myself listening to Bruce Springsteen more lately, particularly with the death of The Big Man, their sax player Clarence Clemons

Hey Stranger!

Always good to hear from you and good to hear you are doing okay. And of course, I always have to hear the latest on Bear!! LOL

I hope you get those pics up--I'll watch for them.

I too smile every morning when I make my coffee. You & I got our Keurigs around the same time and, if memory serves me well, we were both using Green Mountain coffee. I still am but would not turn away a cup of Starbucks.

Keep in touch hun and let us know you are alright.

Sending hugs.......

Thank you Sara and theeagle..My wife's son (28) is still with us at least until October when he's to be married.  But it's awful quiet and neat around here.  The girls always left a mess everywhere they went..but we sure do miss them.  When I get a minute i'll post a few pictures of our trip..and a special "group goodbye hug" as we were about to get on the airport shuttle...coffee shop, eh?  hmmm..we need a Starbucks nearby..right now I have to drive 20 miles round trip for one.

I love our Keurig..and my son told me Starbuck's will soon be available in Kcups....I've been listening to a lot of Dead on my Ipod and XM radio but I'm on a Springsteen kick now that really has me going.  My son recently sent me bootleg CD's of shows he and I went to in 2008 and 2009 and they're great to hear again..was saddened by the death of The Big Man..

Keurigs are becoming more and more popular..I don't know what I'd do without it.

I think tomorrow I'll have a Dead/Springsteed DVD day ;-)

Thanks to both of you and I'll write more later.  We're about to run out on some errands...here in cool and rainy NH :-(

Love y'alll
