Hotel Shampoo
When I went to replace the countertop and sink yesterday in our bathroom I had a quite a few bottles of shampoo and conditioner on my side of the sink, so I went to put them in "the drawer” and found there was no room in the Inn. So I took a couple of plastic grocery bags and cleaned off the top of the counter and emptied the drawer and now the question is why do I always bring these thing home with me? It is an obsession as I feel I “paid” for them so I must bring them home. Does anyone else have this problem?

I do the same thing when it comes to cleaning up at hotels, and I even do it at restaurants as well...I wipe up the tables, put salt and pepper back, put bottles of condiments together for the waitress to easily take back, put all the dirty napkins together on one plate....I could go on, lol...we ALL have problems, lol....

Im starting to think i have a problem or i should say one more!!! I dont take things from a motel. I even half way pick up the room before i leave. I put all the towels in one spot and the garbage in one bag......guess my years as a housekeeper run thru my mind. I really do have problems dont i???!!!!!!

That's a shame hon...I like you and all, but I'd STILL steal your pens, lol...Yes, I am a hoarder of some things...not like the hoardin' chicks you see on the news, but it is still an issue...mostly with the hubby...He tries to discuss with me, the need for particular items, lol....I will even get attached to items because of the person that gave them to me...Lord I have so much $hit around here....and I have to say, when I actually toss this stuff away, I ALWAYS need it later and don't have it...so I'm not sure what the right answer is....probably, like most things, somewhere in the middle...I'm tryin'....oh...and my youngest kid is worse than me....we just hoard different things...I NEVER get my socks back Nauty...I yell about it at least 5 times a week..it's a given....and my damned panties....I can't wait to meet up with the house elf wearing all my ****.....that f'er's in trouble if I catch him.....
Oh, no!! Jakee you are a hoarder.......lol. can you send some pens my way....I can never find a pen in my house to save my life, and when I do......I don't even have to say it......lol. I buy pens like crazy because I need them for the karaoke thing....I put out 20 pens and I am lucky to get 3 back.......just like socks in the dryer.......they just disappear ...dunno? Ya'll know what I'm talking about ......The SOck Thing....is that weird or not?.......
I am SO bad about stuff like this...I keep stuff because I "paid" for it, but also just because it's there and I can...I will horde this stuff like crazy...
I was hospitalized many times over the last several years and each time you are there you get all kinds of stuff, bath gel, soap, toothpaste, a seriously heinous comb/brush, a stupid basin, powder, lame-a$$ed tissues, I could go on...well, long story short I have a small suitcase stuffed full of this stuff and sample products I get in the mail...or wherever..I have SO much stuff....some of it I'll use, some of it no way.
I have a hard time parting with stuff if it's unused and "perfectly good", even if it's not something I want...I have salt and pepper packets, napkins, straws, all that stuff from fast food joints when they throw it in the bag....and I actually use that stuff when they forget to give it to me the next time I go....
My hand bag would kick a$$ on that old show Let's Make a Deal 'cause I got everything in that thing and it KILLS my shoulder and neck it's so damned heavy....BUT, when someone asks for something, even obscure, I often have what they need...
I also have about 8,000 pens.....and some of 'em even work, lol.....If I see a container of pens that are free for the taking at a register or something, I always take one.
I'm just STARTING to get better at throwing things away or "editing"..whatever you wanna call it....

Oh, ur right Enemy.......one hotel i know of uses Gilchrist & solmes...sp?.......those are great!!!! .....I paid paid the housekeeper 20 buks and she gave me a cr ap load of of it........weeeeeee I went to their website and its a little pricey.......

Actually I love some of the bath products from the nicer hotels. When I pass by a cleaning cart, I'll swipe some extras.
Now that everyone's coming clean I'll admit something. I worked in Texas once for 3 months & my company put me up in a hotel. I only came home on the weekends. That was around the time my daughter was getting ready to leave for college, so she was able to leave home and move into the dorms w/a few sets of towels, toilet tissue, kleenex, tons of soaps & other toiletry items. Coffee too.

i am also guilty of taking these. i keep them in a decorative vase type thingy on the counter in my guest bathroom for my guest to use.
I'll tell you the reason........As vic stated.... you feel you have overpaid for that darn room and you are going to take it, cause you paid for it.......I have even in the past taken towels....oiy...yes, and I would even take the the spare toilet paper roll, and why?...its like using sandpaper on you ***......Now if I could only keep the darn tv remote out of my mouth.....i guess thats my payback.....I've been known to usually get sick after traveling. Oh, and if I order room service, I've been known to take some of the cute little appetizer dishes, and those dipping sauce little thingys.......I even took a pillow once from the Marriot.......Ok, and sometimes when i would see people's room services dishes out by he door I would steal the really nice wine glasses........I swear I'm not a thief.......its impulsive......and shameful........oiy!!!

LOL, my parents always had a basket under their bathroom sink, with all the various shampoos, conditioners, lotions, shower caps, sewing kits... lol :) Must be in case there is ever a shortage on these things.....
I just came back from a vacation and had to take them all. I do it every time, it's like if I dont do it my vacation wouldn't be the same. Cant tell you why I do it but I do. LOL

You can donate them to the shelter houses. Many do that around here and the people are very appreciative. So many of them leave their home with just the clothes on their back. Just a thought!!! sara

Vic, I am the same way, I have a million of them, never use them when I get home, why do we do that? I guess it's because we paid for them and just can't leave them. Funny uh? lol

LOLOL! I do the same thing. I always take them and, like you, have too many. Too funny. LOL!
