Nope, never did...but, I have caught some 40" striped bass...I couldn't even get them into the boat!....ahem...well, mine were more about 36" or so..
You've never caught a walleye??? Oh they are fun........caught a muskie once but it wasnt very big.........get your fishing gear ready........
That's an interesting tale....hmm...I learn something new everyday. Pretty cool...I've never caught me a Walleye and I've tried and tried...maybe next summer eh?... that and a Muskie...I want me one of them really badly...
Folks round here put 'em up so that after the new year they can bring 'em to town and throw them in a big pile on the ice in the middle of the lake that the town straddles. When the lake melts the trees sink to the bottom and make an excellent walleye hatchery and fish habitat. People make wagers on what day the trees will drop. lol !!
That's how blissfully dull it is round here. MERRY CHRISTMAS !! ..Burrrrrrrrrpatch
Oh, and why do we have cake on birthdays?........
Uh, because its Christmas........why do people color eggs and buy rabbits for Easter? Why do people ring in the New Year, or have turkey on Thanksgiving. Why do people put up flags for memorial day .......Every Holiday has a symbol.....
Why do we take meds when we have a cold.......cause someone says that's what we are suppose to , so we do it.......just because.............
Statistics.........I always wonder who "They" are..............
bcuz its pretty to look at... and to trip out on, lol trippedoutgirl! :):)
People put up Christmas trees on Christmas because an Easter tree wouldn't make sense.
What is the reason behind putting up a Christmas tree?
long before christianity came into exsistence, many people spent their time worshipping the earth beneath their feet, without whose cooperation, the would starve, freeze and a whole other bunch of not good stuff. winter solstice, usually occurring between 12/20 and12/23 has the shorest amount of hours of light. rituals were, and still are practiced to honor various sun deities in the hope that the sun would return and with it the land would again become fertile and sustain them through another year. in order to appease both early pagans greeks and such, christians sort of adapted the ritual into a holiday to fit what changes they were trying to affect. personally, i think Christ would be very disappointed at what it has become. don't even ask me about celebrating birthdays, or i'll really get going. blessed be
No energy to put a tree up this year but I do love them. I love the smell of a tree and the lights mainly. Hate fake one's.
So I can take the tree out in July......
So I can STILL be vacuuming up the pine needles in July...LOL
I only remember that it goes back somewhere around the 16th century and it's a Germanic Pagan thing. I THINK Nimrod is somehow involved in it, but I can't remember for sure.
Personally, I put it up because I like it. I don't do anything because I'm "supposed" to, I do things or don't do things purely out of my own free will.
So my cat can have one more thing to get into!!!!!
