oldest son been clean for 2 weeks...woohooooo

i have not talked to my oldest son in about a month...MY choice.  his wife called last night to inform me that he is in outpatient rehab 4 days a week for 4 hours...is going to NA meetings...and has not smoked pot, taken any xanax, or had a drink in 2 weeks.  this is a HUGE step for him and i am encouraged by his desire to sober up.

i ended up speaking to my son and he told me that "it was time to grow up and that he was tired of all the drugs".  

as the saying goes..."who woulda thunk".   hope he makes it...he is a wonderful person and i'm looking forward to getting to know the new and IMPROVED madison.

if he is successful...this would be 2 down and 1 to go ! ! ! ! !

Hey Liz !

I am so happy for you.  I think it is so damm sad when drugs come between Mom and their kids........Sounds like he is in the right mindset.  That is a good first step.

I am so happy to hear this.  Hopefully he has had enough now and will continue on with his aftercare.  2 weeks is a great start!!!  Enjoy getting to know him again!!!       sara
