Cat...I just read this. It is HIGHLY possible they did get a 'delivery' because the QuikTrip we used is a MAJOR truckstop right off the interstate so it is always busy. My friend that came over today got hers at a QuikTrip for less then what we paid last night. So I'm thinking...no more truck stop....which we hardly ever go there anyway! LOL..
Good info though..thanks for sharing it Newgirl!
There is no gas where I live , The companies are refusing to pay for it and there for have taken signs down and we cant get any, We got lucky and filled the car up yesterday morning as they were telling people they wernt buying anymore. This world just keeps going to hell in a hand basket. Kinda scary really
Cat is correct!!!!
Do not, I repeat, Do Not accost the clerks..they are doing as instructed..keep your receipts and ask for the manager or owner...if you chose to follow through...
Thank you cat, I didn't think of people flying off the handle at the poor clerks..
Hopefully if more people know about this, the less it can continue.

We all have to remember though, it's not the employees fault...they make $6 an hour like everybody else. I feel sorry for them when people give them flack..the oil companies and politicians are the crooks, not the clerks...just my two cents...I'll shut up now..=/
You are correct on that...my sis owns a convenience store w/ gas pumps..and that is what she told me.
I also heard on the radio yesterday...that 2 gas stations in michigan had raised their prices to $5.50 and $6.10 from $3.89. They ( radio station) said to take a pic of their gas signs at the station and turn them in. I couldn't believe it...there were cars 6 deep in line at every gas station I passed yesterday afternoon around 4:30. CRAZY!!!
Of course...I had to pull in and join the hysteria!!! LOL
here's what i know...
They cannot raise the price of gasoline unless there has been a 'delivery'. If you're feeling cheeky...go back to the gas station and ask to see the records...Do you think they received a shipment in between the time you got gas? It would be interesting to see the look on their faces when you ask to see the log..keep your receipts...
good luck...
keep me posted

I agree 110%. It's just ridiculous. It makes me sick to see homeless people while the oil billionairre$ are buying $5000.00 bottles of champagne ...>=(
well from what i hear it is 5-7 dollars now, and price gouging is going on too....
that is really sad and those people should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
nauty.........
Well, you know the story on my car...hah...but it's actually paid me to keep it, so I can't complain...we caught a 9lb catfish tonight...=)
OMG...it has here too...but man...I drive an older Jeep Cherokee and it's paid for..so the gas mileage isn't great..but I have no payment. I actually now alter my routes and try and do all my errands at once and truly watch how much I drive.
$3.99 here...we'll see how high it goes...it's been worse here before...=(
Ok..so at 4:30 today we filled up my husbands truck at $3.43/gallon my husband went back at 10:00pm and it was up to $3.69. WOW...didn't think it would jump that fast!
So go fill up...LOL!
Are you telling me that I should not have dropped my son off w/OPEC this morning? Great...NOW you tell me! LOL
Well, I live right in Oklahoma...SO just to be safe I sent my dear sweet loving hubby to fill up my almost empty Jeep. Don't really want to risk that one and I needed it anyway.

Gas prices have been steadily rising...well...forever.
When asked recently (OPEC) why a recent change in the market (positive) wasn't reflected at the pump, their response was;
"The reflected change will show up in a few weeks time. It's actually a staggered affect."
It's been six months now, and I have yet to see a significant decrease.
Think this through; They claim that the there's a time lapse between prices at the pump and market impact events...yet every time something terrible happens, the price is reflected immediately at the pump.
...what could this mean?!?!
They couldn't be...*gasp*...LYING to us?!?!
Nooooo.
NOT OPEC!!!
They're so trustworthy...I'm sure everyone out there would trust them to babysit there kids, right???
Gas has jumped by 54 cents a gallon here in Winnipeg. Here's what puzzles me. In the past month or so and as of today, the price of a barrel of oil has dropped by over 35% yet yhe price at the pumps has dropped by about 7% over the same period. Now that there is a threat to the refineries the price has jumped obscenely. Within the next two weeks after the hurricane has subsided, the refineries will be operating at full capacity. There is enough gasoline in storage tanks to cover the next while, the cost of gas will however not drop to the levels it should. What will happen is the oil companies will lower the price by maybe 15 cents a gallon and that is where it will stay until they can come up with another reason to gouge us again. This is a no-win situation for the consumer because our governments, yours and mine will, as usual, bend over backwards for the oil conglomerates. Every dollar that the cost of gas goes up the more taxes the governments will reap. I think that our governments should send us a jar of vaseline along with our tax forms, if you get what I mean.
Not surprising. There's so many oil refineries in Houston, and they've all shut down & ran off like scared chickens........of course I don't blame them.
This shut down is costly, so we have to pay for it. Simple.
As of now.....the hurricane is looking pretty bad. I dunno?.....I guess we will see.
Nauty.....
It is fairly common to see a slight rise in gas after a hurricane has forced them to shut down for a few days. What we need to think about is the fact that OPEC has decided to cut back on oil production so they can raise the prices. Yeah, and Bush And McCain/Palin want to dig more? Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Nothing here yet in Southern Minnesota. sara
