Sorry about the confusion they are not actually native to la. but they have been here and are the majority down here in the bayou land.
I cant tell you exactly when they ended up here in la. but they made it and are very versatile to their surroundings. Some of the things I have seen them eat amazes me but they had to learn to live and eat and that they did.
And there are a ton of the french cajun folks here in South east Louisiana.
Actually a Cajun is a French Canadian formerly known as an Acadian. They were originally from Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia, Canada. The new name for them is Acadian-Cajun. I was in Chetticamp, Cape Breton where I met a large number of Acadians who were extremely hospitable. If you are a stranger there you can not buy the first pitcher of beer. Someone will always buy it for you. They have some of the finest fiddle players in the world and enjoy performing to the local crowd. If you are into heart-stopping things, you have to drive around the Cabot Trail which leads to Chetticamp. You have no idea what is around the next curve and whether the oncoming car is crossing the dotted line at the next curve. It can be a hair-raising experience at times. There were no guard rails when we were there which made it even more scary.
well in history a native Cajun is either a white man who was born to the south our that owned land before the independence of blacks our a black that has been raised on plantations and lived through out their family's history.. our it could be a soup knowing them :)) (no offense meant) as far as the joke lol they would gut anything and eat it !! :)) must say native Americans are no worse except they say thank you to the great spirit for providing :)) lesa
