Obama rally was great !

Magi and I went to the Obama rally yesterday.  There was over 30,000 people there and the energy was incredible !  We thought we were going to get there early enough to get up close, wrong. The line was unbeliveable.  I can't even describe the good feeling it gave me.  Black and white people coming together like I've never seen.  It was awesome !
This man really has a way of spreading love and compasion, and such a talent for bringing people together.
I also like the way he doesn't let us (the people) off the hook. That it's up to us, to start paying attention and make sure our voices are heard.  Many, including myself,  have sat back for too long while Washington has run-a-muck.  It's time to take our country back from these big business crooks.
(just thought I'd share)

Well... generating euphoric happiness and togetherness in the masses is an admirable trait.

If he wins...I just hope he can do the job. Considering the people's track record over the last two decades in terms of voting, I'm not about to get my hopes up with any candidate the popular vote picks..

Oh No, Crispy, Please don't say you're gonna vote for McCain? You don't honestly think Bush has done anything but screw up this country, do you? And McCain is just more of the same thing. Please, Please, lets all not make another bad decision.
ANYONE BUT MCCAIN!!!!!!  God help this country if he wins.

i am a republican but we do not have a good canidate. But the thing about obama or clinton is they both have gimick. You either vote for the first "black" or first "lady" popular votes and gimick votes drive me nuts. If neither race nor gender was brought up I would feel fine actually voting democrat. But nah both playing there gimick.

Gender and race are not gimmicks.  They were born that way. lol    People need to forget the color and sex and go to all the canidate's  web sites and see where they stand on issues.  They also have Vote Match. Where you answer how you feel about certain issues and it matches you with a canidate.
I really think if more people voted on issues and not within party lines, we would realize that we are more alike than different. If they did away with republican and democrat we would all be better off. These parties just seem to divide our country.

I agree with you, but we are in the "real world" here. There is no way to overlook the candidates One is a woman the other a black man.  This is definitely a History making election.  It's not a gimmick.....it is what it is.  The sad part about it is ....when Osama Obama takes it......he WILL LOSE......we've seen this before and will see it again.  There will be no President that is African American.  McCain will be our next president, and that is what is killing me, because it will be like another term for Bush.  Nothing will change, except the fact that things will get worse.  Hillary was our only chance to break thru this mess--we have to be realistic. She would have been the most likely democratic candidate to get elected.  I hope Obama wins this just for the Demo's......but thats it.  But, when push really comes to shove......the likelihood is not good..........ugh

Wow and this is 2008!   A bi-racial man, son of a white woman, raised by white grandparents and yes obviously fathered by a black man can not be president of the USA.   Because his skin is too dark?   Too bad no one noticed Bush's ears were too big.

Regardless of who wins the primaries and regardless of who becomes president of your United States, this is a positive breakthrough for people of all colors and gender. The mere fact that a woman and a black man have stirred the imagination of not only the United States but people all over the world could very easily be the first step forward  to total equality. It is time that we see not gender or color but the person and what she/he is composed of. For too long the world has been
seperated by racism, sexism and bigotry.

I find it absolutley inconceivable that anyone, at any level of intelligence can still think Pres. Bush is anything other than deceitful, arrogant, coniving, egotistical, selfpreserveing dictator. And McCain is exactly the same. There would be not difference if McCain becomes president. By now anyone who voted for GWB should realize they used bad judgement voteing for him, and should seriously question weither their judgement has gotten any better since the Bush mistake. This country will not hold up under a 3rd term of Bush/McCain. Just because some people don't like Obama or Hillary is no reason to vote for McCain and flush this country down the toilet. At least vote for Barr or write in some other candidate.
If people can't educate themselves on the issues, without looking at color, gender or political party, they should just stay home on voteing day, because they just don't have enough common sence to vote.
And anyone who will not vote for Obama or Hillary just because of race or gender, should move to a country where women are still bare-foot, pregnant and subserviant and where black people are still slaves. Prejustice is bred from stupidity.
If your voteing for McCain, you're voteing against the American people.

As you can tell, I'm very passionate about this election. I'm so afraid this country will make a 3rd major mistake.  God help us all if the Bush regime continues with McCain.
LOVE YOUR COUNTRY>>SAVE AMERICA......VOTE FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN MCCAIN.

since this is a good distraction...

not that i'm a bush fan, please provide proof on deceitfulness comments, self preserving dictator?? sounds like hate more than logic.

and please tell me anything (ANYTHING) significant Obama has accomplished while in office? I have yet to get an answer from any O-fan.

i also love the spin demos are putting on McCain as a continuation of Bush. If you remove your glasses, you'll notice he's a centric. Perhaps the war is fueling the dislike for McCain but he is nothing like Bush. One can love their country and vote for anyone. ;-)

1. Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries, and deaths.

2. Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

3. Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.

4. Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.

5. Violating U.S. law and the Constitution through widespread wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a warrant.

6. Violating the Constitution by using "signing statements" to defy hundreds of laws passed by Congress.

7. Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.

8. Violating U.S. law by using paid propaganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.

9. Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.

10. Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001, and in increasing air pollution causing global warming.

all these violations one would think he would be in jail. looks like this was copied direct from a left site. these are all arguable. Number 10 does strike something. Granted the US feds should have done a better job, but no one is holding the mayor and state accountable. in fact they re-elected the mayor! so lets blame bush.

i have to respond to 10. again! "and in increasing air pollution causing global warming."

i believe WE are responsible for that one. Cry global warming, but until everyone stops driving supersized cars, trucks and SUV's, lets blame bush! ;-)

Just one thing Obama has done.
Lugar-Obama Initiative........Introduced in the Senate by Obama in 2006 and enacted in 2007. He got this passed in the Senate despite the love Republicans have for nuclear weapons. Paul, can you name one thing McCain has voted on in the Senate in the past 4 years, he has not flip/ flopped on? He also was too busy last week to vote on the new GI Bill. He thinks it is bad to give our troops a free education if they serve three years in War. McCain is anti troops and Veterans.

George Bush has admitted to tapping our phones and computers without a court order.
Next week, Karl Rove will be the 4th piece of garbage in this administration to refuse to testify before Congress to protect the Bush Crime Family.
You say Mary is quoting a lefty web site. You sound like you get the Right Wing Talking Points from Rush and Hannity~~~~~~~~~~
