I remember doing that to my bike spokes!
I also remember:
Pay phones
Busy signals
Bubble gum cards
Moon sticks (they were yummy)
Pop rocks
45 records you cut out of the the back of the cereal box
Free cigarettes in the mail (!)
Test patterns
Leaded gasoline
Yep, I guess I am really up there..
Remember when we would take clothes pins and clip the cards to the spokes of the bike???
I also remember going around and finding bottles to turn in so I could buy candy.
As we sit and think, there is so much to remember. Those were the days!!!!
The music was GREAT back in the 50-60-70s too!!
Bless
Thanks for the trip down memory lane :) my score was 15.
I can remember thinking I was really cool and independent, when my mom allowed me to strap on my metal key skates, and skate over to the little general store by myself to buy butter or bread. She would give me a whole one dollar bill, and if there was any change I could buy myself a 15 cent bottle of pop or a 10 cent moon pie!
I not only remember all these things but a few more as well. Licorice babies, hard hats( very hard candy shaped like a hat,) moons, a flat candy moon shaped round, licorice cigars, etc. etc. etc. remember because I am older than the hills which should give me a score between 70-89.
You are too much!!
Yes a walk down memory lane.
I will have to come back and describe some of my old memories too. lol
How funny, those were the good ol days! I remember when people actually had to get up to change the tv channels, of course we only had 3 channels back then, lol!! And then when the broadcasting was over that was it til morning.
32 out of 32 for me too! Haha! I happen to have a new found fondness of being older than dirt. Beats the alternative. With age comes wisdom.
BTW When I was little we had a coal stove in the kitchen for cooking and heat. No central heating system, just a coal stove. My five brothers and sisters and I would huddle around it in the winter to get dressed for school. God I miss those days!
And I loved "penny candy". For a nickel or a dime you could get a whole little brown paper bag full of yummy candy.
Loved those wax "coke" bottles. Used butch wax. ( let's keep that info here only :-) ). Was a big fan of the candy cigs too. Red coloring on the end to make it look like it was lit. I saw iceboxes but always had a refrigerator. My great-grandmother drove a Packard. As far as gum, more of a beemans and clove fan but blackjack was there. Mimeograph paper? That was every handout I ever got in school. If it was fresh I think I could get a buzz off the fumes. Also older than old dirt!
Yup! 32 for me! I currently have an ignition switch on the dashboard...hahaha.
Some of these I remember, some I was told about. I got pulled over for driving grandpa's car with the brights on cuz I had stepped on the button on the floor and didn't know it. Definitely older than dirt, but I miss those days. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
Butch wax and mimeograph paper? Maybe I just forget. All the rest I'm down for. Remember sin sins, licorice candy?
I am older than old dirt! 32 out of 32 also!
I remember 32. I am older than dirt!
