Palin says that we need to stop looking back.

I think it is so important to look back.  How do we know what works and doesn't work. We even use our past experiences in recovering from addiction.  We have to look back and see what are triggers were and learn from that.  It's so important to look at the Bush and past presidents mistakes, so we may avoid repeating those mistakes.
In looking back, we have found that our economy is usually better under a democratic administration (unless of course you are in that richest 4%). Even as far as wars are concerned, don't make the same mistakes twice.

What works and what doesn't.  Bush/McCain policies don't work.  We have given big corps. tax breaks, in hopes that it would create jobs.  Not seeing those jobs are we, instead the rich are just pocketing more money.
We have also learned from the past that we NEED regulation , not de-regulation.  We all know that if you de-regulate health care , greed and coruption will take over.

This is my opinion...........what's yours ?

The above quote was by one, George Santayana,(an early 20th Century Hispanic-American philosopher...who by the way is very "right on" and contemporary about alot of  his philosophies and views on our culture....then and now.  (my opinion)  however, I think the quote by George Bernard Shaw is also accurate..."We Learn from history that we learn nothing from history."

Please do not delete this thread too.....we are being nice!

History shows that the New Deal solved the crisis. Some very erudite scholars who have studied the depression and the New Deal suggest that another New Deal is exactly what we need to get out of this depression.

It's too bad our politicians didn't learn when they made the "New Deal" in the 1930s as well.  Here we are again!  Only this time, I think we're screwed big time!
