Power Outage This morning

my wife was kind enough to wake me at 2AM to tell me the power was out.."so, what am I gonna do about it)  we have a triple backup sump pump system with a battery back up that will pump 43000 gallons before dying"  "The fish"..we have 2 aquaria, one a 30 and one a 55 and we just added some new fish...the temp before outage was 80 in the water..so I had to go down and wrap blankets around the tanks.

6AM she was kind enough to tell me that it was will out and I needed to chec on the fish...water temp was down to 78..so I took some water out and added some warmer water...re wrapped them..went back upstairs..the minute I got upstairs...the power came back on..

My 21 year old daughter who loves to learn new stuff told me yesterday she wanted to plow the driveway with our snow thrower today...."It's pretty heavy...for a girl" I said (a common joke between the 2 of us...so she came downstairs this morning ready to go...I told her how to start it and how to run it and what do do if it "got away" from her..I plugged in the electric starter using a 4 foot cord "uh...Jim....that cord isn't goingn to be long enough to do
the whole driveway"  I laughed and gave her a big hug and explained it was just to get it started...she did a great job and yet another thing she's done that makes me extremely proud of her" and of course..."how did I do?"  I thought about it for a minute, looked around  of course responded..."not bad for a girl"  She gave me a big hug

I have to remind her once in a while that it was me who was going to go to the high school and fight for her to be able to play football....but she backed out.

My dad used to have little inside jokes with me as well. I sure miss that kind of stuff and of course I do it with my boys as well .  It is stuff she won't forget when she is older. Good job!

it's a joke between us...years ago she wanted to learn new stuff and she'd say "you don't think I can do it because I'm a girl"  So it's become a joke btween us.  She's my buddy

LOL  only kidding!   I think it's great she's learning that kinda stuff.
