To all my friends at Med Help ! I want to thank everyone who has helped and supported me over these last 4 years . It took me four times of going clean for two to six months each time but I believe I have turned a corner ! Looking back as a person who never abused anything in his life I find myself wondering what compelled me to take that first pill that day and the damn prescription had been setting in my medicine cabinet for a year ! Strange how the mind works .As time marches on the fog of abuse and addiction is fading and driving in the mountains with my convertible  top down and my Dr. Pepper is my new high ! I can stop and hike in that 6,000 foot air and really not have it bother me at all ! Its wonderful people . For all you reading this who are just starting your journey back to reality I can tell you it is WELL worth it ! Fight for your life and you will succeed ! It takes time but you will feel better then you ever have in your life I promise ......Thank you so much , Jimmy

Hi all,
I've been on 4-8 Lorcet 10/650 for about 12 yrs. I decided I no longer want this controlling my life. So Sunday (I'll be on my 4th day in a couple hrs) I took my last two.

My question is once I get through these withdrawls will I feel better mentally and physically (please don't just tell me what you think I want to hear).

Okay, I won't laugh (Cranberries??? LOL)   I would have added some Neil Diamond for the ride up and Aerosmith on the ride back!   Also, I know the traffic gets ugly,slow,crazy in LA and I"ve been through that madness(in Boston).  Music saved my sanity and my life
back then,when I was driving/commuting. Windows down,volume up, and singing like I was
at an audition!!   ( um...and I still do this... )      V.

Hi Vicki , Let me see I was listening to don't laugh John Denver's  Rocky Mountain High was one I kept playing and some Cranberries , Andrea Bocelli in the morning and then soft rock in the late morning and drove back down to LA with The Doors . LOL !  There ya go ! Jimmy

I wish it was vicki,but no,to be honest it was completely and honestly just for the buzz,I convinced myself I had a headache,now normal paracetamol would have dealt with that,but in my wisdom I decided it needed codeine,big mistake,3 days and 80 tablets later the guilt hit and I got on here and got the kick in the butt that was needed,I still have the imprint of someones shoe,not mentioning any names Sara.

Congratulations on 600 days,I had been following in your footsteps until 574 days,had a relapse on the codeine for 3 days but I got the butt kick I needed and woke up to myself,

So I am 16 days off codeine
593 days no alcohol
