I just can't get into drinking coffee black...I used to and used cream and sugar on special occasions but then I figured all life is a special occasion so what the heck...I've never tried the Kona blend...but I love the lilttle doohickey we bought so's we can use fresh ground coffee...what a difference in flavor.
Jim
Like Bear I use a Keurig coffee maker, I like the Kona blend though and use cinnamon bun creamer with a little milk and the blue sweetener. I will drink it black but have grown to like the creamer really well.
Oh...he eats alot... He's not aware that there are 4 other people who live in the house, consequently anything in the fridge/cupboards is fair game for him...I made a big ol' chicken dinner last night and immediately afterwards he was grazing..
and to stay on topic...I had coffee afterwards.
Jim
Don't be afraid, Mary....he only lost his whole family who want nothing to do with him because of this behavior..he's now trying to control my adult kids, my dog and my wife. We simply MUST have dinner at 5....broke him of that real quick..I get off work at 5 and while I work at home I certainly am not going to shut off my laptop and sit down and eat. We had a tiff over the "kids" and i finally had to tell him..."this is my family...it may not be perfect...we don't eat every meal together, they're not here all the time...BUT..everytime we see each other we're hugging and saying "I love you" and everytime we end a phone call we end it with "I love you"...that's good enough for me. He doesn't like the fact that we allow my 21yr old daughter's bf stay overnight...well, based on her activities of 3-4 years ago I'm happy just to know she's here every night and alive and the sweetest most beautiful young woman I know..heck, back then she was hanging out with dealers and making "deliveries" and drove around with a machete in her car. We knew she was going to be found dead in a dumpster somewhere. So, her bf can stay here when he wants because I know where she is (and their relationship is more platonic now anyway)
we only have to put up with this for about a year..isn't that great!!!
c'mon by...got a fresh cup brewing!
Jim
Mary's in the corner, hiding from Bear's brother-in-law. She has had her share of controlling, critical men. lol .........run Mary run.
Ah.....jamaican blue....sigh...now I want to go back to Jamaica...only been there once (Negril) and fell in love with the place...I can't wait to go back and it's a battle 'tween the missus and I...she wants the Bahamas, I want Jamaica..
Jim
Its a flat out toss up between Jamaican Blue mountain and Hawaiian kona - - - those things with artificial flavors should not be allowed to be called coffee!! IMHO.....
so, who's coming by for coffee today?
Jim
oops, i meant half and half
in an attempt to take better care of our bodies, me and the old man have started using stevia as a sweetener and organic hald and half. we started paying attention to all of msg(monosodium glutamate). thas stuff is totally bad for brain function and a myriad of other things. check out underground wellness. just google it. you will be surprised at what we are doing to our bodies.
sorry, didn't mean toget all serious when this thread was becoming so much fun. peace, sway
Well, I guess I scared Allaboutmary away.
Jim
Well my favorite Jo....was not coffee...does that count?
do you mind if they're controlling and highly critical and obsessive compulsive? He's just the guy for you if you don't mind those minor traits.
Jim
I'm not that choosey when it comes to men anymore.....BUT the one thing I'm firm on is they must have a job. lol lol ........or be very wealthy.
OK....I'm waiting....btw...are you interested in meeting an unemployed brother in law with no job. no money and a phd in Political Science?
Jim
Don't put away the coffee Bear, I'm on my way up from Florida. I would love to spend the holidays in snow. I'm telling ya we really need to do a house swap for vacation.
Puts away coffee....I take it Domino isn't stopping by for coffee today.
Jim
i just drink plain old coffee.....buy t at store...put it in maker ..add creamer and lots of suger,,,,,,i do have these lil coffee shots..they are the size of creamers and each is equall to a cup of coffee...i put 4 in each cup so one cup is like the same as 5 cups...love it
Who cares about a mess....I just want coffee!!!!!
Is that you at the door? I'll brew you up a great cup. Don't mind the mess in the house, please
Jim
I take my coffee black with nothing in it. Since all our Starbucks closed i am now drinking Dunn Bros. anniversary blend. It is dark and rich and good to the last drop. I have a Bunn coffee maker with the thermos carafe. Got it for my birthday a couple years ago. Im going to Jims house for a cup of coffee now.........
I saw the pod type recently....we've had our Keurig for several years and initially the only place we could find the cups was the dept store at which we purchased it...then they started showing up at grocery stores and there's a coffee purveyor in a little strip mall near our home that sells every flavor they make..
I'd probably have a fancy coffee maker like my son and daughter in law (who are coffee nuts since they both work at Starbucks) but the one cup at a a time is perfect for us since I like the strong heavy flavors while my wife likes the french vanilla and hazlenut...
Jim enjoying a cup of Starbucks Sumatran as we speak.
I'm not that picky about the coffee. It just has to be fresh brewed. I can't drink coffee thats been sitting and cooking on a burner......yuck. I use a thermal coffee maker so it shuts off as soon as it's done and the thermas keeps it hot. I use Sweet & Low and Half & Half.........I know that's an oxymoron move. lol (kinda like diet soda with my hot fudge sundae) but it's the way I've been drinking it for years. My sisters will heat old coffee in the microwave.....yuck.....and I get in trouble for throwing away old coffee. I hate waste probably more than most, but will dump old coffee.
Bear, I had one of those fresh brewed one cup at a time machines. It was when they first came out and I had a hard time finding the little coffee pods for it. I found it alot more exspensive too. Would have been great if I could have used regular coffee. Sold the machine at a garage sale last year. lol
