Something I'm very proud of
My 32 year old son (father of my grandchildren) was just named, for the second time, "Manager of the Quarter" for his region in the Atlanta area for Starbucks. While 2 of my own kids have had their problems, and 1 of my stepdaughters has had hers, this makes me so proud I could cry.
He manages a store in Kennesaw, GA, is loved by his employees and works his tail off..an also orders my coffee when I visit because I haven't the slightest idea what to order.
Jim who can't wait to leave the northeast and live in Geogia...and hopefully, it won't be long.
it's a great feeling to be proud of our children..I am happy that you are enjoying this moment..
I'm not sure what they give him..some sort of plaque and a gift of some sort...I lovve Starbucks, too...I wish we had one near us..(in New Hampshire)...they were in the process of building a couple new ones (closest is about 10 miles and out of my way on the way to work) one of which was right on my route to work..but apparently they've but the kibosh on it with their financial woes and some battles with the town planning board...
this is very frustrating..there's a dunkin' donuts across the street (they're all over the place here and I'm sure had something to do with it), and while their coffee is good, it's "boring"..but..I guess I'm stuck with it for a while..
anyway...Yes, I'm very proud of my son..he was recently up here and we drove to Foxboro Mass to see Bruce Springsteen..stopped at a Starbucks and the manager there used to work for him in Georgia..that was pretty cool.
