Well, I am a big fan of Jimmy Buffet, so I've been listening a lot to that. Recently, the album of choice has been Coconut Telegraph. Lots of songs that sort of hit home.

i know this sounds like a dorky song but for some reason Born Free (the tiger cub song) kind of helped me....live free...stay free.....my personal favorite that i listen to to this day is Down by the river..Neil Young...there are so many good ones
see its working. I knew it. Songs do help! and posting them here will only help those of us who want to hear music as a way to pass time, and think. It does help. I am listening to most all songs listed here to see if they belong on my new ipod, under detox songs, heh. Lets keep this thread running. Its catching on. Thank you for all your help. Im on day 2, ready for 3 and music actually helps me a tad. It is not much, but anything helps, right
There are certain songs that have been resonating for me recently...
Jimmy Buffett - Incommunicado - It's what I am now.
Jimmy Buffett - It's My Job - Just a reminder.
Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now - The goal.
Eagles - Peaceful, Easy Feeling - Another goal.
Harry Chapin - Cat's in the Cradle - What I don't want to be for my son.
Jimmy Buffett - Little Miss Magic - What my little girl is.
But then, my tastes are completely eclectic. I started out the morning with Metalica, was listening to bagpipe music when my wife came home for lunch and back to Buffett around dinner time.
Anything that takes your mind off of has meaning to you, then its a good song. The meanings of those songs for me are listed behind them...

neil young is my all time favorite. down by the river is top 5. ive got decade on vinyl. i sit back with the head phones and listen to some tonights the night, cortez the killer, needle and the damage done that and some good rolling stones. i was born 15 years to late for my musical taste. if u want to cry and get out some pain throw on some radiohead or the cure or the smiths, last night i dreamt that somebody loved me is probably the saddest song title ever (smiths, strangeways here we come album)
Skynard That Smell. I have a very wide range of music.I like it all. Ok except for elevator music and teeny bobber stuff.
