So as you all know I just got over swine flu(still recovering really) , next i had a brown reclouse bite, big rotten hole in my cute leg : )  ...now its got staph in it!!!!!!!!!!! I work in a nursing home so go figure! it just *****

I also had a few little red bumps around my laminectomy incision and they itched like crazy! They did go away on there own. I wonder if it was the start of the same thing and my body just fought it off? Kinda makes me wonder.
Lee....Hope everything works out for you, but I'm sure it will. It seems like us addicts always end up having a run of bad luck. I think it's God testing our will to stay clean! The last time I was clean for a few months and had a root canal go bad. The dentist said he hadn't seen anything like it for over 20 years! God tested my will but I failed. The pain was so intense I ended up in the er. The thought I might have had a infection of the bone and had to get a ct scan done. Thankfully everything came back ok but the pain stuck around for over 3 months. If it's not one thing, it's another! Sure hope you get to feeling better soon!

Interesting story about your sister... As I had a similar incident happen to me about a year ago... (and.. I work in a hospital)

Started out with what I THOUGH was a zit.. pimple (whatever) on my lower back area very close to my incision lines (from my laminectomies) and THOUGHT it was just one of those annoying painful pimples but it turned in to a HUGE painful area that I had to FINALLY go into the emergency room and have checked because it hurt SOOO BAD... Red.. inflamed.... it was taking over my entire back area... YIKES!!!

After going to the ED  they first thought it was a spinal abcess.. but then after lancing and draining and culturing it found out it was MRSA... Who would of thunk!  as I AM A TOTAL CLEAN FREAK....I had to go on MAJOR antibiotics for 2 weeks and now have a nice WHOLE in my back... but.. I did recovery but am always concerned about this kinda COOTIE coming back (to haunt me)

So.. with that said.. LEE... PLEASE BE CAREFUL.. and.... take care of YOURSELF!

hello my sis ended up w/staph and ended up fight right at a yr to get rid of it. She got it from doc office and in as little as 24 hrs she had a huge place on here stomach w/lines red going to her heart, put in hosp that day next morning did surgery to get infection out of her was a 5in wide and 2in deep incesion on her stomach she had to have it packed with gaze 2x daily there.    She was in so much pain from it they like to killed her and after that one she had 32 more staph places come up. It has nothing to do w/not taking care your self my sis is a clean freak when it comes to hr body and she did everything by what doc told her. Took al meds etc. So Lee please be careful keep a good check on ty

Wow lee.. so sorry to hear all of this.  That is really awful.  And I dont have to tell you how serious a staph can be... be careful and take care of yourself.  Im pulling for you!

Doesn't it seem like those who are working in a place to help others, end up getting sick or hurt? Within a year and a half of working at this nrusing home I work at, I've gotten C-Diff, flu after flu. @_@

yeah we were on so much other stuff that i never had time : ) yeah i have to go in as soon as the staph gets under controll and have the bite cut out.....scary : (...but yeah i had swine flu almsot a month ago and i am still recovering from it, drains all your energy, but I am getting better

And.. by the way.. I can DEAL with the Swine Flu thing.. it's the Brown Recluse Spider thing that got me.... You have to be REALLY CAREFUL with that kinda thing... it's like FLESH EATING BACTERIA thing..

It does seem the bugs are out to get you!

I think sometimes that when our bodies are full of drugs our blood is so toxic we aren't a good envirnment for the little blighters .. or maybe we are just so ill/out of it we just never notice. Though last week I managed to take the skin off 3 toes on one foot and the heel of the other doing so much running to get through a bad patch ... and I didnt even notice till I saw the blood on the bathroom floor. Maybe it IS a plot ^^

Hope that heals up OK Lee, from what I've read those Reclouse things are evil, I'm lucky in that we don't really have anything like that over here.
