Inpatient is not the only road you can take but it is the best. While you are in you usually can't smoke, you get to detox under constant supervision, and you get a lot of education. Education about the effects of drugs on your brain and education about yourself. You can also make friends in there and it is nice to see other people in the same position as you.
I would actually recommend it to somebody who isn't abusing any substances. Just for the therapeutic effedt it can have checking all your problems at the door and feeling like someone cares. A lot of people don't get to hang around the caliber of people in a detox center. I believe some of the best people you can meet are in these places. The ones who come there, after detox, you can see in their eyes that they are happy to be alive. They wil be more honest than most people you meet and it shows great courage and strength to go there to begin with.
Anyway, welcome to the forum, and this is just my opinion. It is neither right or wrong, just what I think.
Welcome.I have seen crack addiction w/a non blood relative.1st u have to100% want to quit, commit to.ur recovery&aftercare. This drug is ALL MENTAL ADDICTION.U have tobe so strong and determined and you can do it.I would suggest impatient for this drug because you need to get some clean time under your belt but more important u will get the tools, support system etc. Also a structured situation.Good luck
