I wish I could answer that!!  Why did my doctors out me on hydros for 10 years for headaches??

I have learned much from this forum.  When I stopped the hydros I was going to just take the Ultram/tramadol ehich was also prescribed UNTIL I read about it on here.

So now I go with over the counter and deal with the pain....for me!  Nor a big fan of the medical community BUT I do trust those on the forum!

Then I strongly suggest you do not take tramadol or this other stuff!  Just my thought........it's the same type of dug with a different name!

Good luck to you!!

I have not had any issues with tramadol. I don't want to start this and be in the spot I was in a month ago.

I don't know anything about it, but my husband's doctor prescribed him tramadol because he "didn't want him getting addicted to hydrocodone"....so I thought it was safe.   Then I read about it....a synthetic opiate, and withdrawal from it is worse than hydrocodone.   As it turned out, he took a couple and threw the rest away.   It's getting so I don't trust doctors very much any more.

Thanks for the comment. I'm confused as to why she prescribed this knowing that norco use brought on depression and i took myself off after years of use. Has anyone been on this? She said it has minimal side effects and very low abuse rate. My pharmisist said it is like trammadol but stronger. I have had no issues with that other than it did little for my pain. I would love to hear more opinions.

Nucynta (tapentadol) belongs to a group of drugs called opioid pain relievers. It is similar to morphine. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic.

Nucynta is used to treat moderate to severe chronic pain.
